Na.
Move on to Blake Griffin or Danilo Gallinari.
Or, take that money and use it to extend our own guys.
Really, let's drop the notion that the Cs have any interest in Carmelo Anthony. This is a fantasy created in NY by Knicks fans. And the idea that we would give up anything decent or even a no. 1 pic for Anthony's untradeable contract suggests someone thinks Danny Ainge has been taking Billy King pills.
I am not so sure. Melo's contract is bad but it's only 2 years and if the plan is to build around Jaylen, Fultz, 2018 Brooklyn pick and we strike out in FA this year - I could see him being a short term target. I still wonder how the best US Olympic player ever could be so bad in NY. Maybe in Brad's offense he could be the guy he was for coach K. After watching Kevin Love destroy us and watching JR Smith and DWill thrive in a pace and space offense, it isn't unfathomable that Melo could as well.
If you could sign and trade KO, give up picks we definitely don't want or need (our 2018 pick, 3 second rounders this year) and one of our guards - Rozier perhaps along with fuller (Amir, JJ, Zeller) just to have a team that can light it up while rebuilding would it be worth it? Probably is a sideways move unless Melo has a rebirth as a player but if we strike out with FA it's a fall back plan worth thinking about.
We've seen Brad do wonders for less talented guys like Crawford, ET, JJ and Phoenix IT as well.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
