I don't know **** about college players.

But I know a first round pick, even literally the last pick of the round is 100 times more valuable than two useless second round picks.

You pick best player available and take a flier there.

Makes me sick.

Agree to disagree. Valuable for the kid getting picked because the contract is guaranteed (unless that's changed recently)

If we don't have a slot for the dude then you punt it down the road.

At that point in the draft if you think you can get your dude in the second you take the shot there. Same reason Freddy Van went undrafted. He wanted to bet on himself and did not want to deal with the 2nd round uncertainty. iirc he made that news available to teams.

Every single year people will rate a future second over the last 5 or so picks in the first round, because they're a similar level of player but you aren't locked into a large financial commitment in the second round.

To get 2 of them, in ANY DRAFT YEAR is always considered a win in value.

And if it's a high second then getting just that in a trade for a late first is always considered a win. This is like textbook GM knowledge.

Agree and that’s the best route but Ainge still refuses to draft a big guy

Legit only logical way I can spin this draft is Ainge was hell-bent on not filling any roster spots after 14 and Pritchard has agreed to spend the year in Maine or abroad.

Even then, lots of missed opportunity at 14 and his failure to consolidate assets and move up looks worse by the minute.

Yam Madar, the Israeli Patrick Beverley, is a Celtic!

Maybe!

In a few years!

Fans: Ainge always drafts guards who can't shoot.

Madar looks like he could eventually get traded for a future second rounder. Awesome pick.

Well not him, but his draft rights.

Ringer has Mader as the #34 overall prospect Givony has him 49th

Pre-Draft Analysis

A late-bloomer physically, Madar has good size, length and athleticism for a PG, but it will likely take several years for his frail frame to fill out before he's ready for the NBA. Nonetheless, he has previously left a strong impression with his feel for the game, competitiveness, budding shooting ability and intangibles.

KOC
Electric point guard who plays with fire on defense and flare on offense, but his upside will be determined by the development of his jumper.

He has work to do tightening his ball-handling skills and gaining consistency on offense in the half court, but he is an excellent development situation. He looks like a safe bet to reach his full potential. - Givony

Do you consider Robert Williams and Grant Williams big guys?

We went from a home run after the first two picks to a disaster for the rest of the night after that ludicrous trade for two second rounders. Like last year when Danny passed on Bazley twice and Bol three times we'll regret passing on Woodard and Bey three times and Reed and Mane four times. Even when Danny has some success he can't help himself because at his core he's a terrible drafter. Yes, many other G.M.s are garbage on draft night as well. But several teams had great nights and are much better set up for the future than us. I really wouldn't blame Tatum for leaving now.

yam madar? like I said, ainge is one of the worst gms using second rounds, it doesn't make any sense to trade that pick30 for 2 2nds.

Lol, incoming meltdown over the 47th pick. It almost feels like DA was just trolling with this one.
