Paschall with the 34 pick would have been the right choice in terms of talent and fit, there are a lot of PGs even without wannabe.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread, 2019-20
I’m stating the obvious but I’d really like more time to see Kemba, brown, Hayward, Tatum, Theis , Smart and Robert Williams all healthy at the and time to be able to get more of a measure with how far off are we from the Lakers and Clippers. That’s what it’s all about. Ha omg a realistic chance to beat the best in a series. The answer to that for me is definitely a no.
But trading one of our 5 best guys really subtracts a big part of what we have. Our advantage is our quickness so I like the starting lineup with Theis and sometimes Williams. But center is the place I think needs the immediate upgrade if we’re talking actually contending THIS year. I think we could do Hayward for Drummond easy but still not be good enough. I’m all about adding talent but I wouldn’t mess with that core. I’d give it a year.

Zero chance Ainge and Riley facilitate a trade midseason when both teams are in the hunt.

He played at where I went to college for one year, Fordham University. He was A10 ROY.
Then, knowing we suck and had a coaching change, he bolted for Villanova. Smart man.

Unlikely, I agree, but if each team feels that the piece(s) they are getting helps them in their hunt... Never say never.

Knowing the personalities involved, it is safe to say never.

Just playing around with trade machine
Chicago trades Markannen, Satoransky and 3.5 mill of salary (whatever choice of leftovers, gafford and hutchinson maybe?)
Orlando trades Aaron Gordon
Boston trades Langford, Poirier, Memphis pick
Chicago gets Aaron Gordon, Romeo Langford and the Memphis pick. Chicago makes the deal, runs all young guys for the season and cashes in on picks and youth. Gains capspace moving forward as well to potentially run at Anthony Davis with a core of Carter Jr, Romeo, White, Gordon and lotto picks
Orlando gets Satoranky and Hutchinson. Orlando cashes in on Gordon and adds some wings who can create and shoot from the outside. Satoransky should solve alot of Orlando's issues.
Bosston gets Markannen and Gafford. Boston adds a young bigman to groom with their dynamic core. Lauri can close games as an offensive center, but starts at PF. Move bolsters bostons bench by moving both Smart and Hayward there giving us the best depth in the league. Ideally Rob Williams continues to improve to become the eventual starting center.
Kemba/Wannamaker/Edwards
Brown/Smart/Green
Tatum/Hayward/Semi
Lauri/Theis/GWilliams
Robert/Kanter/Tackoooooo

What about adding a piece like Caris LeVert? I really think we could use a new 12th man as Edwards just isnt cutting it. Thinking LeVert in a 6-10 MPG role would really improve our deep bench.

Oh damn, he has a PPP due to that terrible extension he signed. Oh well.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread, 2019-20
detroit trades Wood, Galloway, Doumbouya and griffin and Get Westbrook, Clark and poirier and bucks 1st
Detroit goes the 2 man game with shooters around them
Westbrook
Kennard
Snell
Morris
Drummond
houston trades Westberook, Clark and get Griffin, Galloway, Semi
Houston adds a power forward who can better fit with Harden and a little depth on the wing
Harden
Gordon
House JR
Griffin
Capela
Boston trades, Semi, Poirier and bucks first
gets Doubouya and Woods
Boston gives woods a chance as a starting power forward consistently to see if his numbers can be maintained. If not still add a very good prospect to add to Langford with development in Doumbouoya (who has the potential to be a phenominal high motor defensive sf/pf hybrid)

Midseason target no one is talking about: Crowder.
Ok so I can guess some replies to this. If he really hated it here and doesn't want to come, obviously don't get him. This is all assuming that he's cool with a return.
The Grizz suck. He's on smallish money and not signed past this year. I think upgrading at the 5 is still the main goal- but- the 3 bigs we have have been ok. If there is no clear move at the 5 why not Crowder? He's basically a better Semi.
The problem is that the money just doesn't work for a trade. But he's only making 7-8 mil. With half the season gone say he is owed 4. What can we pay him? Not sure but he's looking at losing 3 mil if he agrees to a total buyout. The griss will want to tank and maybe save some money. So maybe Crowder can get it to something like pay 2 million dollars for the chance to rejoin a playoff team in a contract year. I could see him agreeing because he just wants to win and I could also see it as a good business decision. Sure GMs already know how good he is, but the more fans that see him helps in contracts too. Crappy teams need to sell tickets.

Perhaps. But imo they make alot of sense.
Houston gets front court production and kerps ballnin hardens hands.
Detroit gets pg do all production and have a fantastic 1-2 punch that will work in the east.
Boston helps with salary and sweeteners for depth while snagging a long term project.

Do we have an exception in which a non-minimum salary would fit? I'm guessing that, because we dropped under the cap to trade for Kemba, we don't have an MLE, and the MLE alternative -- "Room Exception" -- was used on Kanter. (I further guess that Poirier was signed into the space left under the cap around the time of the Kemba deal.)

I don't think we have anything left
Memphis is going to flip Crowder regardless. They will get a 2nd rounder or 2.

Yeah, you're probably right. Sucks for us as I don't see how we can match salary. I'd give up a 2nd or 2 for him.

If Orlando liked Satoransky that well, couldn't they have found a way to get him this offseason?
And why would Chicago roll over Markannen for pick/prospect assets?

I realize he is on a lot of money but is it possible to get Jordan Clarkson without losing a key player? He would be a pretty good off the bench spark plug for the team.
