Yeah. Just a nobody who's 6'11", shooting 40% from 3. Knocked down 4 threes the other night to help OKC beat the lakers, when the entire world was watching Lebron break the record. Good interior defense metrics. 7th in the league in +/- rating. Extremely high efficiency in the PnR.

Yup, a nobody for sure.

Preach! This trade has got low-key Brad move written all over it. Nice value, fits a need, solid vet. Nothing to complain about at all.

Now onto the buy-out season to find a gem at wing. Someone with size and strength that likes to play D, doesn't need to be a great shooter.

wow I couldn’t get through that, had to mash the stop button. Even in the age of the “my money don’t jingle” guy, that was truly awful.

However, this did help disabuse me of the uninvestigated notion I always had that Mike Muscala is from Europe.

PLEASE tell me that on some random street corner in Boston earlier today, Pritchard was filmed telling a lot of randoms “you see what Brad did? You see what he did? You got Hauser on one wing, you got Luke Kornet on one block, on the other block you got MIKE MUSCALA. THEY SCARED! THEY SCARED NOW!”

—if you’re good at video editing, please make this and share it to the world

See I think Stevens doesn't make this trade without checking in with the (still temporary right) head coach and making sure the ROI will happen for it.

This guy is a big that's too much like Gallo which was Brad's #1 target much to perhaps logic's chagrin and we've been paying for it ever since.

But if you can't get yourself CP3 for free... the next best thing you can do is try to compliment your players.

And when you have Smart and White as your starting backcourt you better have some good **** shooting everywhere else to make up for it.

I think Muscala is going to be in the rotation when the team is fully healthy and has replaced Kornet's role completely due to the need for spacing.

Like someone else said, just a bigger Hauser. And honestly how much of what Kornet does on defense is more than just being bigger than Hauser? We'll find out.

It's not the primary fix to Tatum needs of having someone else around to carry the offensive playmaking load occasionally that a star would be (still pissed that Booker will now have KD making life simple for him and Tatum is playing on hard mode), but the best you can do without access to actual talent is at least put out as much spacing on the court that you can so they can hit down 3s when they get open 3s.

Very similar poor man's version of Gallo who was also slow and couldn't guard a 4th grader last year but he was tall and could shoot and that's what Brad wants in the rotation and is his answer to the questions that cost us the championship last year.

Well it is what is can't wait to waive him next year glad we have a club option on him. It is clear Stevens isn't interested in building through the draft. I just wish he did a Brogdon type move instead though. Smart brown Tatum horford timlord starts Brogdon ,white, can't will, Griffin hopefully Gallo comes back we are definitely going to need him. You all can have muscala you seem to think this is a good thing. I'll stand on my island and hopefully I'm proven wrong in the playoffs but we needed more than muscala. Let down at the trade deadline once again lol

At 6’11, i’m fine with getting muscala. He can shoot, and has the height and body to defend the block. Yes, we could have had someone better, but i’m fine with it than getting nothing. Definitley a good pick up.

As long as it's not the Houston 2nd, this is solid. Could be a taller Hauser if he's got a hot hand.

Hauser is a special shooter. Even when he was struggling, he was still shooting around 40% from 3. Hauser also was a quicker release and a much higher point of release on his shot and is able to get off a lot of 3s because of it.

Muscala is still able to get off a decent amount of 3s too, though. And he is a good shooter from 3 and a good FT shooter for his size. But I still don't think he gets any playing time in the playoffs. But still a nice pick up by Brad.

Hopefully it's not the Houston 2nd like you said.

I'm hoping this is the same as the White trade, just shrunk down to 2 2nds value. White isn't perfect, but he is almost perfect for the Cs.

A hot shooting C who can moonlight as an actual C is just the rotation player we need. Now for a 10 minute a game wing from the buy out market (probably wishful thinking).

My point with the Hauser comparison is more so that he's a specialist. Don't expect more than floor stretching from him and you won't be disappointed. Anything he gives you beyond that is icing on the cake.

I don't see him as a rotation piece if everyone is healthy, but I do see him as a chess piece for Joe.

For example I could see him getting minutes on a night that Tatum is getting blitz doubled (like what Philly did last game). You fill the other 4 positions with lights out shooters and you can force their hand into changing things up. I also like the potential for him to open up the paint as a floor stretching 5. Obviously not going to be the go-to plan, but a "break glass in case of emergency" guy for off-nights or unique situations.

If he can eat some regular season minutes to keep Al/Rob fresh for the playoffs, that alone would be worthwhile. Plus he just gives another skillset if worse comes to worst and we have to try and money-ball a replacement big out of him, Kornet and Griffin.

A 2nd unit of Muscala, Grant, Brogs, White, and JT or JB would be a nightmare for the opposing team's 2nd unit.

Solid deal.

We could still end up with a very high 2nd from Houston and Muscle Mike only cost us a pair of seconds that are the type you could realistically buy with cash in almost every draft.

Not splashy, but I kind of love it.

My two words are “budget Olynyk” — but given that Kelly was likely out of our price range (trade assets + luxury tax) I’m happy enough with it.

The bold means a lot to me.. near first rd talent..

As Far as Muscala goes, the comparison to a Bigger Hauser is a good one for me. Like Hauser, he has a nice stroke, can do a bit more like Hauser than just spot up and shoot, though He really doesn't have to do much else offensively to make it work.

I also believe his solid shooting is NOT from a small sample size and may actually get better for us. Which team between Boston and OKC would lead to more "OPEN" looks. I have to believe with Tatum (especially) and the way Brogdon, White, Smart + others move the ball, It's Boston easy.

And while I like Kornet a bit more than most since day one, I will be first to say that Muscala should/will be a much better fit offensively. Have no idea about his defense as of yet. Though I expect a lot of DROP COVERAGE like all of our Bigs and drive me nuts.

Overall I also believe he CAN BE a rotation piece in the playoffs when necessary, just because he can make teams pay for trapping Tatum.

That alone is very underrated IMO.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Has some nice fluidity for 6’11”

Catch and shoot on the move, some Dirk fadeaways, wonder if he’s all 5 or 4 and 5?

If Gallo never actually plays the Cs, Muscala seems like he might give us a fair amount of the same thing
