Isn't Jalen Smith a poisoned chalice in that the team that has him is the only team that can't resign him for more than $4m?
Yes, unless they use the MLE (assuming they have it come July).

Probably means absolutely nothing but pretty interesting

Bwahaha!!!
Celtics
Get to make 3 New TPE's: $27M Horford, $5.8M Schröder, $2.6M Freedom.
While acquring PG Markelle Fultz long-term, and Jalen Smith for a viewing. Lopez is a 3pt shooting Throw-In Big off the Bench.
Suns
Get rid of 6 Dead-weight players; while bringing in 4 x 1yr Contracts (incl. Schröder for a look-see) and T. Ross on a 2yr.
Magic
Use up most of their Expiring TPE's (Feb 10, 2022). Plus, they Create a New TPE for $12.9M of Fultz.
They'll have to Waive a player.
Looks like Celtics would likely have to give some type of Picks.
It's fine for the Celtics and the Suns, but I think the Magic get a little hosed, yes? And while I would love to unload Horford, I'd rather just wait than give up a pick.

Oh they can use the MLE? That's decent then. He won't get paid more than full MLE

Yeah, we don't even have too many 2nds left. -- But, if we could do it without forking over too much, then it could be worth it.
Magic aren't go anywhere this year. And there is some incentive in it for them. They'd likely want a pick, though.zimpy27 wrote:Curmudgeon wrote:

We'd get to take an extended look at him, in our system. And could finnagle the Full MLE, if Brad does his math right.
