To be fair isn't this thread a good example of how the relationship with them used (pre-Isaiah) to be?

Maybe I missed something but throwback and I **** around with each other a lot (inside jokes and I think he's a good poster), and CHL is just doing his CHL thing. I haven't seen much of that Isaiah era hatred in this thread.

I think the fact that both sides know messing around on the other side's board is getting you a temp ban at least, and a permanent one at worst. That has stopped a lot of it, but both groups still insist on taking stupid and unnecessary shots at the other side on a fairly regular basis. It just gets amped up when the teams play.

Yeah. I honestly want it to go away at this point. I never lurked here prior to joining, but since joining realgm and up until Isaiah came here, I had nothing but love for those guys even if I thought their forum was lacking in basketball knowledge. Both fanbases regularly vistited the others' forum. Vinbaker6 was a regular in game threads. Things were fine between us. That was 4+ years and I imagine things were fine before that as well.

Is it unreasonable to think we could get back there? Perhaps.

I think it is peaking right now due to both teams being pretty good. Wasn't bad at all when we were rebuilding and they were good. It's going to take one of our teams being awful before this rivalry settles down a little bit due to one side being humbled.

Wanna know the sad part though? The sniping between fanbases actually extends beyond realgm. The Raptors subforum on Reddit basically mirrors their subforum here. "**** Boston" will automatically get you 100+ upvotes in there. I watch NBA TV Canada and you got hosts, Randy Urban and Akil Augustine, making snide remarks about the Celtics there too. I don't even want to mention the trash you'll see on Twitter.

Will things calm down? I hope so. I also don't think this situation is as unique as we think it is. They have a large fanbase and so do we. Both teams are good, so that amplifies it a lot. But let's say the Knicks were good (I know, that's a tough scenario to envision) - I think things would be just as bad between their boards.

I think most do. The problem is that all it takes is one person to keep it going. Then a warning gets issued and tempers flare.

So she came to my game on a surprise visit
Driving from the 6, that was so exquisite
It was game day, I knew she'd be near
Division on the line, she'd ease my fear
I went to the hotel to ask for her room
Minutes from her, no fear loomed
Up to floor 30, I was on my way
To see my baby doll, I was happy to say
I got to the floor, a maid was cleaning some pee
Yo, which direction to 303?
She showed me where it was for the moment
I didn't know I was in for such an event
So I came to her room, and opened the door
Oh snap, guess what I saw?
A Frenchman tongue-kissin' my girl in the mouth
I was so in shock that he looked like a house
So please listen to the message that I say
Don't ever let your girl visit heading Boston's way

Oh baby you got what I need,
But you say you just like green
But you say you just like green

My relative used to work the Blue Jays and when I followed the Jays it seemed like Toronto fans hated the Sox more than they hated the Yankees. However when I visited everyone was very nice. The internet brings out the worst in a lot of people.

Thanks. Normally I'm not one for luck, but most paths to us taking this game definitely involve some, probably in the form of hot shooting. There's just not any margin for error otherwise. Had to shoot just about 60% (23 / 39) from three to win the UTA and POR games.

But, we're certainly capable. 2nd in the league on 3P% on 6th most attempts.

Edited out the how to on exploiting the glitch.

[quote="Celtics_History_Lesson"]They are grabbing their skis, they are trading in thousands of Canadian dollars for a few dozen US dollars, they are heading to Boston.

Image

Image

They get to the border.

Image

Anything to declare?

"We the Nerf!" they answer.

Image

Some of them get to Boston.

Image

They all react the same way.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

They are Canadian, so some of them don't get to Massachusetts.

Image

Image

Those that did get to Boston, they are amazed, they are in awe, the first time they have seen something they thought was not real, they see success.

Image

Image

They are Canadian, with many convictions for war crimes, and attacks on baby seals, and for rudeness to Michael Bradley.

Image

Those able to finance their stay in the USA for several days and stay out of jail and are able to view the game later return to Canada with stories of seeing greatness.

Image

Image

They then go back to watching the famous Toronto sports team.

Image

Image

Drunken violence, what Toronto sports is all about.

Image

Memories of Boston, a bright spot in their lives.

ImageImage

And you will cry when Saltics lose on Saturday.
