Only Smart has star potential and he can play with Dunn. Rozier's upside is 6th man. IT is a 6th man. Hunter is a spot starter/bench shooter type.
Not saying Dunn is can't miss, but he's very appealing even for a team loaded with guards.
So bring Dunn in to potientially play over Rozier and IT? Interesting. Some trades would have to occur for such a pick to remotely make sense... and I'm all for that.
Yep. I think long-term it's AB vs. Hunter and IT vs. Rozier. If we go win-now, I would imagine we would trade the pick over picking Dunn and stick with IT/AB. If we opt to keep the pick, I think we consider moving AB and IT if Hunter and Rozier look like NBA contributors.
Question becomes, who wants them? Maybe Doc. Does he have anything we want? Who needs a smallish, possibly All-Star PG. I'll admit to being somewhat intrigued about the possibility of a Smart/Dunn backcourt and have thought about it before.
