Just win.

3-4 since the streak ended is not a good look.

Missing Hayward.

Just win this convincingly if possible, rest the starters.
Good assessment:

Those are more than enough losses to last us until July. No more losing, okay? Deal.

Worried about this one. Guessing we’ve stayed in NY since Thursday night and could see our young team having a little too much fun before a day game on Sunday.

I never think going into a game thinking we're going to blow a team out because that's nonsense in the NBA. Totally expect a close one, especially given it's the Knicks and they'll get up for us for sure.

We're simply not good enough to expect blowouts. That might change when Hayward comes back.

It would be cool to come out the gates not like total bums. Apparently they are basically the worst 1st quarter offense in the league.

Brad needs to shake up his rotations. Merit should rule - not coaching favorites.

Best players off the bench have been Smart (who is now a starter) Brad W, Rob Williams, Kanter and Green.
PER - Kanter 23,Rob and Brad 17, Green 14.

Good news is that's enough guys even with Hayward out to have a full bench!

Bad news is he is playing Edwards/Williams/Semi - despite them absolutely sucking. Not only does this rot the soul of your team - it loses you ball games. Playing guys JUST because they were draft picks or just because you like their off-court attitude is simply wrong in sports. Best guys should play. Sports are supposed to be based on merit.

These guys are NOT productive on the court with PERs of 8, 6, 4 - nor are the dominating defensively or playing great smart basketball that doesn't show up in the box score.

They have just been bad - just like the stat says. Brad is being stupid - and someone (Ainge) needs to call him out.

13-5 extrapolates to 59 wins. This team seems almost good enough to win at that rate without Hayward or Brown playing. When all hands are on deck, we have a chance to win 55-60 games. So what exactly is the problem with the bench?

To win a title is going to take a roster adjustment of the kind that probably isn’t happening this year.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

So what's the solution? Just play the top 7 guys 35 minutes each? What's wrong with throwing rookies out there so they can get up to speed? It's like 200 minutes of basketball for the rookies each so far, they barely play. I agree on Semi, though. He sucks out loud and hasn't improved in three years now, can't shoot, is not nearly as athletic as he was in college, etc. I'd give all of his minutes to Grant and Green. It's playing 4v5 offensively every minute he's on the court, but hey maybe he'll be a 42% shooter from three in a few weeks? Still way too early to make sweeping changes I think. Carsen Edwards has played 186 minutes, he's a small guard who is adapting to the NBA game, he's never going to be good if he just sits on the bench, giving all of his minutes to Javonte Green, who is a JAG, isn't the best for long-term roster construction. There isn't much to develop with Green, he's an athlete who can grab o-boards, play some man defense, be an 8 minute energy guy, but that's about it.

Kanter is getting into the swing of it, he's going to get 12 minutes some nights, 25 others, depending on bigman matchups, don't really see the issue with his playtime so far, plus he was injured for like 10 games, slowly working into it. Wanamaker has been playing 20+ MPG for a few weeks now. Seems pretty good for the 3rd PG.

There's more to an NBA team's goals than who is the exact best player at this exact moment. Sure, if you want to 100% win every single game and you have no motivation at all to get your starters rest across an 82 (upwards of 100 with playoffs) game season, you don't care about the development of young players on cheap contracts, you don't care about gathering data on how certain players play with others, sure, just play the starters 36 minutes and then spread the rest of the minutes between Wanamaker, Kanter, Rob Williams and whoever of Smart/Brown doesn't start when Hayward is back. But now your team is burnt out by January and when someone gets injured you have to put in your rotting rookies. RIP.

C's are at least 10 deep with quality players by the numbers. With Hayward hurt its down to nine. Why play the bottom of the roster guys just because they might be the future. The cream rises to the top. If the young guys dominate in practice - they will get burn. When they get burn if they are elite they will dominate there.

This idea that playing people NBA minutes makes everyone 'develop' is nonsense. Again in sports the best guys should play. This recent slide is directly the result of playing guys major minutes who are not NBA ready. No one will be 'burned out' with a 9 man rotation..

If you start favoring poor performers because of draft position or youth and ignore the merit of the guys who are actually playing well not only does your team suffer in absolute performance but your team morale suffers. People can respect being moved down in the pecking order if they are playing poorly.

So what's the solution? The guys you list as being they key backups are getting a lot of minutes basically. Wanamaker plays 20 minutes a night, Kanter has nights he plays 25, RWill plays 20 some nights. NBA teams go 12 deep if they can get away with it in the regular season, and Boston is on pace for 59 wins currently so I guess they're getting away with it. Carsen Edwards plays like ten minutes a game, who cares if he sucks. Who do you want getting his minutes anyway? I'm fine with Wanamaker getting a few more of course. Grant Williams looks quite good to me outside of the shot. And I'm not going to bench him over the results of a few dozen jumpers, especially if he's hitting them in practice. But I'm not privy to what happens at practice.

Go look around the NBA, all good teams run 11-12 deep. Milwaukee has 12 rotation players, Toronto plays 11 guys, Sixers only play 10 and have to rely on their starts to go 35+ some nights, that's going to take its toll. Miami is going ten right now, will that catch up when their young guys that everyone here loves hit the wall? I vote yes.

Who is being favored because of draft position or youth anyway? The rookies play the fewest minutes on the team currently outside of the guy who was undrafted, playing overseas last year and was the last guy signed onto the roster (Green). If you wanna give Green five more minutes and knock Semi down, OK, but it doesn't seem like it makes a difference which stiff stands in the corner on offense and misses both of his shots every game.

Solution is to shrink the rotation to Hayward gets back so we don't continue to play sub .500 ball. It's not complicated. Once Hayward comes back - if we resume blowing guys out - then we can play all 12 guys.. In the meantime we should focus on winning so we can get a good seed in the playoffs.

We should be shooting for the #1 seed. The time to win is NOW. Kemba and Hayward aren't getting any younger.. The reason why this team has been losing is too many minutes by players that are currently unproductive..

Every possession counts in the NBA - don't waste them on lineups that couldn't win a Summer League championship..

Going to 10 Guys, is not the answer. You have to play your other Men, during the season.
There's a reason why there are 15 Players on a team. 17, if you count the Two-Ways.

Back in the day, it was said that you couldn't win with just 5 guys. You'd needed a 2nd Unit. Backup players.
Today, you can't win with 10 guys. For an 82-game season, and then the Playoffs, too?

You need to look at the Bigger Picture.
Not just winning in this year, but also going forward. That means developing your youth.

Play 10, or even 9, in the Playoffs. But for the regular season, develop all your viable players.
The whole team is valuable. -- (Even the scrubs can be traded for something.)

Not only that but you have to play the guys in the regular season against a variety of matchups to figure out who you're going to play in the playoffs. Relying on practice and preseason will never give a complete picture.

Brads gonna keep doing what he does and we're just gonna have to sit back and bitch about it. I predict a blow-out win/disappointing loss. Goooooo C's!
