FYI: NBA standings since Xmas

Post#1 » by Al-Haqq » Mon Feb 8, 2010 4:13 am

NBA standings since 25th December

Cavs 19-3
Jazz 15-5
Thunder 15-7
Raptors 14-6
Lakers 16-9
Denver 14-8
Bulls 14-8
Spurs 14-9

Hornets 14-10
Bobcats 13-9
Memphis 13-9
Suns 13-10
Hawks 12-9
Magic 12-10
76ers 12-10
Dallas 11-10

Bucks 11-11
Portland 11-11
Rockets 10-11
BOSTON 10-12
Clippers 9-13
Miami 10-15
New York 8-14
Pacers 9-15

T'Wolves 7-14
Wizards 7-15
Detroit 6-14
Warriors 6-15
Kings 3-19
Nets 2-19

We're slightly better than the Clippers, Heat and the Knicks, but not as good as the Bucks and Rockets.

That is where we are, but the Celtics still feel they're an elite team. Not right now they're not!

We're in a slump. We know we've been losing. We really didn't need another thread telling us what we already know.

Maybe we didn't need another thread about this but how many games before it becomes something mroe than a slump. We're already talking about over 1/4 of the season.

I'm just getting tired of all the panic threads saying the same thing.

Also, to put it in perspective, if this is more than just a slump, then Toronto being a top four team in the league is more than just a hot stretch.

panic is reality for some ;)
Boston is not winning and watching the games, we're not playing good at all
is it a slump? We'll see, might as well be a decline
We need some fresh blood brought in

I love that 22 games is a slump. It would be one thing if we lost two of three or something, or maybe a three game losing streak, but 22 games is a rather large sample size IMO.

Nevertheless the team has been showing signs of life the past 10 days so maybe this 22 game slump is coming to an end. Although yesterday was a complete and utter meltdown.

How many of those did KG miss? Pierce missed a couple. Daniels? People act like that stuff don't matter.

Let this team be healthy for a stretch and THEN judge them.

Team was 100% healthy yesterday and blew an 11pt half time lead to the Magic at home. It was the same trends in yesterdays game that have been there all year. Ray Allen turned the ball over trying to create, PP couldn't get to the line, nobody was knocking down open jumpers.

Funny stat of the year. Rasheed Wallace is playing 9 less minutes per game than last year but only 1 less shot attempted.

Pierce, KG and Daniels are not 100% healthy. I don't believe Baby is either.

Cisco, name me a team that isn't banged up. If your in the lineup your healthy. Orlando has seen their share of injuries just like every other team. Its just we put all our eggs into three baskets. KG, PAUL and Ray Allen.

This is not a slump anymore. Yes we've had injuries but the Lakers win without Kobe, the Nuggets win without Melo [in LA!] ... etc.

We can't win with or without KG.

There needs to be a change and the first to go is Allen.

This has been almost 2 months of play, yet some of you are still content thinking that they'll just pick it up.

.... yeah we lost to crap teams but because we almost beat LA at home then we're fine. PLEASE!

I trust Danny will do what's best for the team.

Pretty big difference between our team and the Lakers and Nuggets. They both have relatively young, athletic cores. If one of their best players are out, they're so athletic and explosive offensively that it hardly matters. If we had a bench player with the offensive potential of JR Smith, it wouldn't be a big deal if Pierce or Ray Allen missed a game. If we had a backup forward at the skill level of Lamar Odom, it wouldn't matter if we miss KG or Perkins for some games. They have role players who can step in and fill the gap for the time being.

Our bench doesn't even compare to those teams. Our most athletic players are Tony Allen, who only displays any sort of athleticism once every ten games, and scrubs who don't play because they're way too lacking in most necessary basketball skills to play in the NBA (Walker, Giddens). Eddie House's shot is not falling this year and Sheed is inconsistent to say the least, so we really have no outside threat off the bench either.

All I'm saying is don't compare us to teams like that.. you'll depress us all.
