I know it's early but Beckett already looks like a completely different pitcher this year. He mixes up his pitches much better, has more control over his curve and the change and he uses his fastball much more effectively. What I really like is that he often tries to put hitters away with his fastball now after he got ahead with off speed stuff... we saw against Ichiro what that can do to opposing hitters.

Hopefully Beckett continues his good start...

Nicely done.

11 of the Red Sox next 13 games are against Toronto and New York. BJ Ryan, Reed Johnson and Troy Glaus are on the DL. New York's rotation is hilarious. Now is the time to pick up some serious ground.

Of course, they'll probably just go .500 against both teams, but I can hope.

Very nice series for the Sox. Lugo had two great plays today with the glove. Plus the pitching yet again was very good.
