One potentially negative side of Banchero, that he has more so than Chet or Jabari is fact that he is easiest player by get fooled by stats thinking he is max contract guy.
Banchero has offensive skills, nobody can question them. Banchero can and will put up points.
Banchero is 6'10 dude, he will get 6-9 rebounds a game. No doubt.
Banchero will put up assists, he is crafty.
But in same time his efficiency and defense will probably be biggest question marks. There is similar scenario with him that is with Melo and Randle. Where they put up numbers, even assists, but offense panders so much to them to the point where team is regressing, just to play in fashion that benefits them.
People now view Randle's contract as awful, but guy averaged 24 ppg, 11 rpg and 6 assists. Those are historically high numbers, how can you NOT pay him? And answer to how can you NOT pay him, was him playing 2021-22 season and flat out sucking air out of Knicks team.
Chet can't "fake" being elite, he will either become top 10 defender and solid offensive player or he won't. Jabari Smith will either be able to make separation and shots or he won't. There isn't middle ground. But there is s*** loud of middle ground for Banchero to still put up stats without having good impact, because, as i said, he has biggest toolbox to "cheat " you into thinking he is better than he is.
Hopefully this won't be ongoing story for 4 years, how Banchero's 20 ppg ,8 rpg and 4 apg ( i pulled this from my a** , don't bother looking at too much) impacts team and is he that Alpha dog, Kobe, Lillard like, or poor man Carmelo Anthony.
