Add in hustle. Only watched half of it cause my kid woke up from his nap, but it's already better than rise. Boban and Tobias Harris cameos? Give the best picture award.

Wish they would've went with the NBA cameos and rocky vibe with Rise instead of the drama vibe.

Middleton is in Hustle as well at the NBA combine in the movie. Two little clips.

After hearing Middletons lines in that movie Juancho Hernangomez to the Bucks confirmed

Not the same positions, but seeing Gary Payton Jr be a productive defensive player with just enough offensive game in the finals gives me hope Beauchamp can be a contributor as well.

Some kind of tucker like role, smaller role but bring D and a little bit of offense. Payton gives me hope because he sucked in Milwaukee. Although I had a t-shirt signed by him once... Hahaha..i didn't take it back to hk...

Horst specifically mentioned he values Marjons 'Gritiness' and that he will be in the rotation..

He meant, G-League.

Horst really doesn't draft well. He has used his picks for absolute good so far, just hasnt been that great at selecting. Maybe this one pans out. Hope so. But, #24 picks in the NBA draft are a shot in the dark- i dont care who is drafting. Horst or Presti.

Lot of guys have the raw physical tools to be great defenders(remember how garbage Semi was) but that's just one part of the equation, they're not as easy to project especially on the perimeter. I'm just going to have to see it for myself since interviews and highlight vids aren't going to ease my discomfort with the pick, hopefully he makes me eat my shoe in the thread bump in 10 years.

If DJ had a motor he'd be a pretty good player.

Along with a brain and some toughness but I agree, that's my point that you can have the raw observable toolset and still not put it together.

Yeah I definitely temper my enthusiasm over seeing his highlights with the fact that it’s in the g league. Anyone know who the best player MarJon defended was?

DJ was an obvious reach in that draft, just like Thon. I can see wanting Jovic here but I don’t think there is a gap, time will tell. I guess I don’t mind a project in a wing over a center or a pg. I never considered DJ a wing because he had no handles, no midrange game, and no post game. He was strictly catch and shoot, and not a lock down defender. MarJon is almost the complete opposite.

Just watched 2 full Ignite games:

Beauchamp needs to add strength/bulk (if possible). Gets knocked off-balance a lot. The LRMAM comparisons are WAY off, he’s more a Corey Brewer type physically.

For a guy who hangs his hat on defense, I expected to see more activity and intensity. He wasn’t just standing around, but he wasn’t flying around or seeking contact either. Tentative (on both ends). Not the “dog” i was expecting but not a slouch or anything.

Seems to shy away from contact a bit. Can be overpowered (probably even by nba 2s). His length will def bother ppl though. Not sure about his feet defensively.

Good man defender tho (at this level). Stanley Johnson beat him off the dribble several times but most guys couldn’t.

Made some nice passes. Simple but on point and didn’t hesitate, one really great touchpass (which is good bcuz otherwise he doesn’t seem very instinctual, plays tentatively).

Not a great finisher. Hands maybe aren’t that good?

Idk- it’s just 2 games and with gleague ball it’s hard to tell some stuff as they’re not cohesive teams w cohesive roles etc.

The potential in his size/physical profile is definitely there but that’s all you can tell now.

Thanks for the highlights.

I don't know how someone can watch that clip then question his passing and BBIQ... He made a bunch of high level passes. That bounce pass at the rim on the break is as good as it gets. He showed he's a good rebounder because of his skillset and because he knew where to be to get the rebound (good BBIQ). And, he showed he's competent going to his left on his drives, so I don't know how that part of his game is in question.

I know I'm making these comments off of highlights from a good performance. With that said, the skills he showed in this game are skills a players either has or doesn't have. It's not like a highlight showing him go 4 of 6 on 3s then claiming he's a good 3pt shooter. When a player shows he can make good/smart passes, knows how to rebound and to effectively go to his left on drives, that's his skill level.

There’s a game on youtube where he defends Stanley Johnson (Ignite vs South Bay Lakers). Johnson beats him a couple times but I wouldn’t say he played him poorly.

But he definitely will face guys w a similar but even better combination of size/strength/quickness than Stanley Johnson in the NBA.

He was 6-9 on 2pt shots and hit a 3pter off a full court pass in that game. How did he show- "not a great finisher. Hands maybe aren’t that good."?

Which game are you talking about? Lakers game? I watched that one and the one vs MXC. And what does hitting a 3 have to do w finishing?

What I saw was he is not a sure finisher, esp in traffic and when contested. He def hit his short jumpers. He blew 2 or 3 dunks he should’ve had- thus the question about his hands (tho one wasn’t a good pass on the oop) and missed multiple floaters in close (tho thats a tough shot).

TBF, if he were decidedly better at these things, he wouldn’t have been available at 24.

About to watch the game vs SLC now.
