Great question. My answer, LaMelo would have still looked like a star NBA player if he were on the same court as D Fox. Haliburton only plays like a star when the entire offensive system is all about him making the plays.

LaMelo is only ahead 40-31?! This reminds me of when people would say Deron Williams over CP3. LaMelo is the choice and it’s not even close.

Dude averaged 17.5/10/4 on an insane 63 TS% (league average was 56.6% this past season, Buddy Hield shot 56.3%, Ball shot 54.5%).

He also fits into way more systems and schemes than Ball does. He had a 19% USG% rate this past year. Ball 28%.

As the flashier and bigger name player, Ball is definitely gonna win this poll, but I think Halliburton has all the tools to have the better career.

Haliburton is a one dimensional scorer like buddy except he's not a better shooter than buddy and same level scoring ability off dribble. Just a glorified role player hyped up as some rising superstar.
