The team that signs him will regret it massively.

Isn't this so he can get the supermax from Washington?

If he ends up leaving Washington (via a sign and trade) what teams do you think might be interested? What can Washington get for him?

Since Beal opting out is still very likely to happen, the best move for both sides is for Beal to resign with the Wizards for a 5 year max or near-max deal. That way Beal gets an extra year vs a 4 year contract in free agency with any other team, and the Wizards can eventually trade Beal to another team a year or two later and get some assets back instead of losing him for nothing.

Off course he will . He wants the super max from Washington. The only other team with the cap space that would make sense is Portland with Dame, Beal and Nurkic.

I personally wonder about his efficiency in a winning atmosphere (as well as his attitude) but I am fairly sure he would be a very hot commodity. Celtics, Sixers, Clippers, Lakers, Heat, Knicks, Nets will all be sniffing around

It's kind of amazing that Washington gave superstar contracts to not one, but two players who aren't of that calibre.

Way better actually.
Not with a 34% 3PT% over the last 4 seasons. He shot only 30% this season. That's definitely not good enough for someone like Beal. Needs to be closer to 40%.
Klay's career AVERAGE is 41%. Boom goes the dynamite.
having a better 3pt % doesnt make some a better player, just saying

I think he'll be okay, but my concern would be that his three point shooting has gone down.
I'm not sure what any of those teams could offer Washington, but they might not have much of a choice.

Washington should just let him walk, and start selling off pieces and reboot. Another band-aid franchise that needs to hit rock-bottom.

The Wizards will give the supermax to Beal right after Wall's contract blew up in their face?
The supermax seems franchise crippling if it isn't for a top 10 player.

No he isn't better then prime Klay. That's an asinine statement.MagicFan12345 wrote:timO wrote:TroubleS0me wrote:All that money for a 3rd option player?
yikes
He is a second, hes better than prime klay.
No he is not better than prime Klay
That said he can be a championship 2nd option. Depends who the #1 is. Middleton was a championship 2nd option and they're on a similar level offensively.
But 2nd option is different then 2nd best player on a title team. He's WAY to bad of a defender for that

That is 100% true. Max contracts are debilitating. But super max? Gtfo. That is for 1st and 2nd team perennial all nba.

Prime klay is a hall of fame player. Beal is a quarter step behind.

He was awful in the three exhibition games on Team USA when they tried to make him the lead guy for some reason. It was embarrassing for everyone. They lost to Nigeria...and Australia.

Agreed, super max contracts should only be given to guys like LeBron, Curry, Giannis, Durant, Embiid, Jokic, Kawhi, Doncic, Butler, etc. Guys that regularly dominate in the regular season carrying their team to top seeds and advancing in the playoffs. That description does not apply to Beal, the Wizards are crazy if they give it to him.
