Poll: would you trade JB for KD?

Obviously the deal wouldn’t be straight up, but I don’t care and I’m not providing any ways to weasel your way out of answering this: JB for KD, yes or no?

No. The Celtics need to add to what they have, not take away from it even if Durant is one hell of a player. Additionally, Durant is 34 before the season starts. And then you probably have to gut the team and give up a few picks with that.

It's going to take JB plus some picks most likely.

I'd be beyond happy for 1-2 seasons, then pissed off for a full decade.

In other words, I'm on the fence.

If we're talking straight swap, without hesitation, but only because I think KD is an all time level player, not because I have anything at all against Brown.

Agreed. -- Jaylen Brown is 8 years younger.
Durant is a Great player. But, how many years does he have?

I'd rather keep Jaylen as our #2 Option. And not mess with the continuity of this Team.

P.S.:
Didn't we Sweep the Durant & Kyrie Duo?

Pros:
The team was barely functional on offense when Tatum sat. That problem is resolved if you get KD. Not to mention the fact that KD then makes Tatum the #2 option. That is a deadly #2 option.

Cons:
KD is old and might miss 20-30 games a year.

My opinion: I probably still do it if it’s Jaylen, 2 1st rounders, 2 pick swaps and the filler is Theis. Theis can be replaced via the MLE or one of the TPEs. And those pick swaps might never be used, because Brooklyn will still be worse than us.

I'm in shock. Would still take 3 years of KD at his age over 2 years and maybe more after that of JB.

Durant was unhappy in SF because the team didn't revolve around him and, in fact, he was required to play within an offensive system.

His preferred kind of coach is ... Steve Nash.

In a couple of years we'd be the Lakers right now, except without the asterisk bubble ring.

This is what it comes down to for me.Nothing in this league is guaranteed long term, and KD/Tatum gives this team a MUCH, MUCH better chance at winning it all over the next two seasons. And we would have ring chasers lining up to play here. Hypothetically say it’s the deal Scal mentioned, and we use the TPE on Burks.

Smart/PP
Burks/White
Tatum/Nesmith (or whoever)
Durant/Grant
Rob/Al

That destroys our team that made the run to the finals, and would be the case the following season as well.

What happens if next season, Al falls off a cliff, and Rob goes back to being a guy who can’t stay on the court? Then suddenly we’re a team that gets knocked out in the second round, and the future becomes a question again.

I don’t want these things to happen, but they are absolutely on the table. This team continues to be trash any time Tatum sits, that’s not going to change with our current core, the sample size makes it impossible to ignore. And yeah I know we got to game 6 of the finals, but we lost because we couldn’t afford to rest JT all season/postseason.

This isn’t even about being willing to trade Jaylen for KD, I’m rambling lol. We just need to add a fair amount more talent if the Celtics don’t want to risk taking a step back.

Here's my take on it. I will mortgage our future picks for KD, or I will ship off Brown for KD, but I will *not* do both.

And what if all that happens even after a KD trade? And KD, being in his mid 30s, understandably begins to decline rapidly and/or has more health issues? Of course if the worst case scenario plays out in either direction then the future will look bleak
