He doesn't smile in Interviews or on pictures.

Not a good move from the FO to draft someone who doesn't want to play for the Magic.

Smith should be the pick.

Huhuhuhuhu Are you gonna cry now?

Not crying but the Magic need shooting and they took Banchero.
The worst shooter of the 3 top picks.

The fact you said we should have drafted Jabari and also say this shows your motives, lol.

Doesn't seem comfortable in interviews and all the attention, straight to business type of personality, no handshakes before or after interviews, that sort of stuff but he is so young, he should get better in that department. And btw I wanted no part of Paolo as he reminds me of certain types of #1 options put up great stats but can't lead their teams to being competitive. But come on, let's not start making things up and remember he is young and can/WILL prove us wrong.

Fans are upset because we didn’t draft a polarized clown show (except for the suit)

He literally said the majority of his communication during the draft process was with Orlando and this is where he wanted to be the whole time.

For a shy guy that doesn’t like the attention/spotlights, he had a lot of bling on his purple suit. Also the gum chewing during the first press conference… Yeah I understand you’re 19 and the whole basketball is watching you but come on..

That being said, I’m very excited for the prospect and what PB can bring to our team. As long as he wears purple… ehm blue, he will have my support!

remember, 19. at 19, i couldnt imagine just sitting in front of all those people i normally watch on TV, let alone being in front of the camera and how many people world wide were watching. especially after not knowing you were going #1 until just before the pick was made.

My parents would’ve smacked me if I presented myself this way in a professional environment. I guess it’s just a different era. I’m also annoyed by the nba all star game and the way all these (basketball) stars present themselves.

From the sound of your posts here...I'm guessing your era is the 1930's?

Dwight smiled all the time and he was kind of a jerk. I remember his smiling was a big issue among fans.

Jordan, Garnett, Bird, and Kobe only smiled while they were carving you up. Magic smiled all the time - to each his own.

I have brought in some FBI, CIA, and NSA behavior profilers to look at his mannerisms during interviews and conclude that his expressions do not indicate that Paolo dislikes the Orlando Magic.

people see them big and expect adult hood. When Terrence "Mt Cody" came to Alabama at 19, he had superman bedsheets he was just a kid, but people saw 6'4 360 lbs and assumed differently.

I just think you don't like his 3 point shot and wanted Jabari. Anyway, just because YOU interpret his attitude as poor doesn't mean
it's reality nor does it mean he doesn't want to be here, lol.

Like I said, it’s probably my own “shortcoming” if you want to call it that. I’m 38 fyi and I’m proud that my parents raised me with manners. Not saying PB isn’t. I felt like his presser was nonchalant.

Again, I’m excited for the kid.

You can respectfully disagree with me. I just gave my opinion. Have a nice one!

I noticed the chewing gum thing too.
I wondered if he always had it in his mouth but forgot it was there and suddenly re-discovered it halfway into the conference or if he somehow ninja'd it into his mouth or if he'd been chewing the whole time and I just didn't notice.

Other than those bizarre thoughts, I just dismissed him as a teenager who should know better.

I'm 54, with kids older than PB, maybe I've just been softened up by raising 3...I'm more likely to choose my battles perhaps. All good. I'm big on manners too- I respect your take.

I’m big on manners but hate formalities so it didn’t rub me the wrong way.

I thought he was starstruck and in total disbelief. I thought his words basically described how he was feeling, he said the whole thing was crazy and he was beyond dreaming to be in the NBA and to be the no.1 pick.

I'm ecstatic to have Paolo.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.
