I think he's the best one, personally.

Yeah looks like it’s back to “normal”. I’d also take Paolo #1 overall, I think he’s Chris Webber 2.0

I don't see a single franchise changing player in this draft class. Kind of reminds me of the 2013 draft class, but maybe with 2-3 more players with all star potential compared to 2013. I thnk Jabari Smith and Jalen Ivery are the best bets to become all star calbier players at some point. As long, the Magic stay away from Chet Holmgren,I guess you can''t go completely wrong.

I think the odds of Banchero going #1 is based on the idea that Houston will trade up with Orlando. The Magic are confident that Chet will go to OKC at #2, so they'd take Jabari at #3 and pick up an additional asset.

That's the scuttlebutt anyway.

More likely to be Bagley Jr. than Webber IMO.

He should have been from the start.

Detroit Blake vs Bosh vs Ralph Sampson

Should be an easy choice on who you would build around.

Cole Anthony and Banchero were both working out at the same gym yesterday. It's possible that the Magic's front office was there.

What would be the pecking order in Orlando among all those high picks in the last couple of years?

1. Jabari/Pablo
2. Franz
3. Suggs
4. Anthony
5. Issac
6. Fultz
7. Okeke
8. Ross

Paolo looks like a bulkier Tatum or Melo to me. Maybe Jabari Parker before the ACLs. His handle and midrange/around-the-basket game is so smooth, I’m certain he’ll pan out offensively. The defense and his best NBA fit is more a mystery.

But they list him like a big, yet he’s quite clearly got SF/wing skills. The big problem will be defense, but it’s easier to work that out in the position-less NBA.

Either than the school they played for, what are the comparisons between Bagley and Paolo? I dont see any.

Yup this is my guess as well. Just a last minute smokescreen to see if Houston might overpay to jump up to get what seems to be their guy with Paolo.

Just seems like a lot of PF busts out of Duke is all.

I like Ivey a lot, because he's basically Jordan Poole with way more upside as a defender and playmaker. But he also has the same cons - loose handle, questionable focus/IQ, and a generally frustrating player

But I've maintained there's a big 4 in this draft and he's one of them, and he could go anywhere after #1 and I think its a fine selection

Can Pablo hit the NBA 3 with good efficiency?

It's one thing to be able to create 3s off the dribble. How often will he hit them?

Maybe against 4s and 5s, he'll be able to drive by them if they respect his 3 pointers enough. He has to hit them at a high proficiency first.

Seems like a really bad way of evaluating individual players... I mean if a system kept churning out the same type of player, sure. But these guys are incredibly different

Just like I wouldnt draft the Davidson PG because of Davidson PG's NBA history, I wouldnt avoid drafting a PF from Duke because of the latest PF from Duke flopping

Banchero is my no.1. He just seems to have tools that will make him very useful, even at his floor.

Jabari looks solid but I also get some Bagely vibes from him. You can never really say where a player will get to but the most likely scenario for him seems to be a decent starter that can shoot. A Covington, a Jymchal Green, and in fairness, that is a piece that's worth something.

Homgren, come on. It's 1 in 100 he has the sort of impact in the NBA he's had in college. However, it's the high chance of being a bust that's the real problem. I'm not using my no.1 pick on a guy that very well could be little more than a garbage time guy. He does seem to have a work ethic, which is a good sign but that's still no guarantee.

Okay but that is just super lazy though. Bagley wasn't even the only PF to come out of Duke in his draft, hell he wasn't even the only one that went top 10 in the draft. WCJ just averaged 15/10/3 on 60 TS% while playing really good defense last year as the starting PF for ORL. Considering Al Horford was by far his most used comp coming out of Duke, I would say he is right on track on where most had him coming into the draft.

Paolo and Bagley are very different players. Bagley relied heavily on being very quick and a very quick leaper. Had no right hand and really no go to moves to speak of. He also was the definition of a black hole, he essentially had a 1:2 assist to Turnover ratio in conference play.

While on the other hand, Paolo 18ft and in is pretty much as skilled as they come entering the draft for a PF. He has the pull up jumper, the turnaround fadeaway jumper, he can attack and finish with either hand as well. And the thing that separates Paolo from Bagley the most is his ability to play within the flow of the offense and his ability to facilitate. Hell Paolo is probably the best passer in the lotto outside of Dyson Daniels.

I am 100% NOT impressed with Suggs at all - Hope he proves me wrong but he is going to be a major bust
