Honestly, who says we need to do anything with him. He's not going to win 6th man of the year or anything. But he's still a serviceable backup PG. But if I had to do something with him....trade him, sharp, Winslow and one of our TPE's to get a decent backup F/C and a G/F. But we could try this
Bledsoe, Toppin, and Burks to IND
Brogdon, Sharp, and Winslow to NYK
Noel and Reddish to POR
Obviously picks, cash, or TPE would be included.

Unfortunately Chicago would have to agree to unprotect our pick. If we’re trading for Durant that makes our pick less valuable, and we’d likely have to give Chicago additional assets for them to go along with it. Since we can only trade picks 7 years out, and can’t trade picks in consecutive years we’d be able to trade our 2025, 2027, and 2029 while offering pick swaps in off years.

In addition we’d likely be looking at having to trade a large chunk or all of Bledsoe, Sharpe, Simons, Little, & Johnson.

Our godfather offer would have to be (assuming Chi let’s us waive protections on pick)

Bledsoe
Simmons S&T (Starting at 20 per works with BYC)
Sharpe
Little
Johnson
2025 1st
2027 1st
2029 1st
2024 swap
2026 swap
2028 swap

Dame/?/?
Hart/?/?
Durant/Winslow/Didi
Grant/Brown/Walker
Nurkic/Watford/?

Our depth chart is shot, we’re at the lux tax already, and we have basically vet mins and what’s left of our TPE to try and fill it out.

Ultimately Durant has never expressed interest here, and has taken shots at our team for obvious reasons.

On the other hand working with Dame, an absolute professional instead of the childish nature of Harden & Irving is appealing. We might be the best roster in the NBA after sending out enough assets to get him, unlike Golden State he’d get the credit for being the hero, and Durant/Nike relationship and the team being up for sale might calculate into it as well.

At least this time it’s not a completely insane idea as opposed to normal.

Dang...Hoops hype is reporting Dame is trying to recruit Durant :D

I'm sure he's trying but good luck getting him here. Not only is it unrealistic we have the assets without trading Dame for him but also Durant has had it out with portland for picking oden over him.

I'm not sure we are the top option for KD but he sure as **** doesn't want to be on the Nets if Kyrie leaves after Harden leaves. If he wants a guy like Kyrie who actually busts his ass for his team at all opportunities Dame is that guy. Dame will do everything in his power to help his team win games, meanwhile Kyrie will not.

We also have no clue how KD felt about Dame after playing with him in the Olympics they might have become better friends that made this more a possibility.

Does someone at Real GM think that Eric GORDON is a blazer? A trade rumor involving him to another team has been the topic article on the blazer home page for awhile. Is this like a Travis Outlaw, Bo Outlaw thing?

On draft day there was a rumor of Philly wanting Eric Gordon and wanting to use Portland as the third team and they would send Thybulle to Portland.

That was 15 years ago. How many GMs have we gone through since then (I count 5)? I'm sure Durant, if he wanted to play with Dame, would get over not being the first choice of Kevin Pritchard. And, if not, he should be dead set against going to IND, not POR.

He was still commenting on portland as recent as a few years ago I thought

How recently?

This was from 2 days ago:

“I understood that pick,” KD said. “Greg was a monster. He was just a dominant big, so if it was somebody in my position or something, maybe [I’d still be upset], but I felt like that was a can’t-miss pick at that time.”

Notably, KD did work out with the Blazers. According to the man himself, it went well.

For the most part.

“They said it was the best workout that they had,” Durant said. “I mean, they probably were gassing. I remember air-balling a couple threes. I remember being tired as hell on a few drills, but yeah, that process was fun, man. You go from living in a dorm room to now being almost recruited by NBA teams. It was dope.”

Doesn't make it sound like he still holds a grudge against POR. It would be silly if he did. EVERYONE involved in that decision is either no longer with the organization, or dead.

Damian Lillard has been the face of the franchise for nearly a decade. He has Durant's friendship and respect. Most of all Dame is a HUGE fan of the city and the organization. If KD was interest in coming to PDX at this point, I'm sure he'd value Dame's opinion more than a decision made 15 years ago by people who are no longer with the team.

Portland is going to need the Bledsoe contract if there is any hope of trading for Durant.

I think 7/5 is the date we need to make a decision on Bledsoe so we’d likely know by then what direction to go in.

Likely Portland would simply let Bledsoe walk, rather go into the tax for a mediocre asset.

Well it appears Kyrie is going to sign so we can probably not worry about Durant

AM620 said Portland was one of Durant's top 4 teams. Did he put out a list or something? Not sure why it matters; Brooklyn can send him anywhere they want.

It’ll be interesting to see if BK doesn’t trade Kylie, their relationship has to be fubar at this point. I think They said screw you we’re not helping facilitate a s&t after all this BS so good luck on the open market and he saw what money was out there and decided to opt in.

That could be a very good team still but I wouldn’t surprised if they blow it up and build around Simmons, as crazy as it sounds.

I honestly wouldn't mind doing a trade of Bledsoe, Winslow, and a 2nd for Kevin Love or Gordon Hayward. We still need a better backup C. Luckily Bamba, Whiteside, dieng, and I believe favors are available

I like Dieng a lot as back-up with Eubanks as third string C
