Regardless of what's going on in his head, he'll have a very small list and it won't matter for most of the league, no matter what kind of assets they have. I'd say it's a long shot of Chicago being on it, it's a shame we made no moves at the trade deadline and didn't show better at the end of the season.
His legacy is obviously very much on his mind and he's extremely sensitive about how people view him. Bringing a championship back to a storied but dormant franchise like Chicago or NY would do a lot for his rep. NY is obviously too far away, but Chicago was in first place for half the season. He likes DeRozan and LaVine, and both of them are dependable, hard-working, no-drama, hoopers. After playing with Harden and Kyrie, I'm sure our guys would be a breath of much needed fresh air for him.
The bigger point, in my opinion, is Donovan. KD had some burner account controversy by talking about how he didn't like playing with BD, but also was extremely remorseful for hurting him and apparently called him afterward to apologize.
