My guy with our pick was Daniels, but I never thought we’d be taking him at 5, knew that was Murray or Ivey. I likely would have tried some drop down maneuvering. Daniels went at 8, so who knows how that would have worked out. It’s Ivey, so let’s get it.

Same. I preferred Mathurin until the LeBron comment. There's confidence and then there's irrational confidence.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Re: For the record ... post-draft 5OA pick
Ivey was my favorite player in the draft but I wasn't expecting him to fall. Mathurin always scared me a bit because his lack of shot-creation ability. I've followed the KCP/MacLemore's and Ross's, and of the 3, KCP is the best defender because of his lateral quickness and speed. Wheres Mathurin can jump high like your Ross/MacLemore, KCP is actually quicker and more agile which IMO is the most important attribute for a guard. Given the fact that I wouldn't pick KCP at 5, who I see as the best defensively of those prospects, I wanted no part of Mathurin. Similarly, I was a bit afraid of Sharpe because of his lack of elite first step. Murray seemed like an OK pick to me but acceptable.

The 3 guys i would’ve been ok with at 5 were Ivey/Dyson/Duren
Probably would’ve leaned Dyson but more than happy with Ivey

I think Ivey was the best player available at 5. He easily might have went top 3. Even if I go out on a limb here, I could imagine him turning out the best NBA player of this draft class in a couple years. He's got the talent, the right work ethics and elite athleticism. I guess he can become a very good player on both ends of the floor.

He could be. Lets hope so. Honestly, I would not be shocked if any of the top 7 players turned out to be the best of the class. Anyone after that would be at least a mild surprise.

Re: For the record ... post-draft 5OA pick
I went back and forth. Kind of liked Daniels. Mathurin. But as the draft neared and as the draft happened, I would have taken Ivey and was really happy when he was chosen. I had heard about Duren. I'm pleased now. Made more sense than the duke center because he can play multiple positions and guard multiple positions.
I'd probably still try and get Ayton and play Duren at PF. (like Rodman did, along with sf).
Miles might fit better since they like Bey playing some PF and you can switch the two around.
...
I'd consider taking on cap from the knicks if we could get our pick back and/or Reddish (intrigued but not sold, I think Cade could bring him out of his lost shell) and Toppin.
Young and cheap enough for potential, but not cap killers.
Toppin and Reddish or Miles?
