Ben covers so much of what was missing for them in the playoffs the past season, which is defense, rebounding, and playmaking. Harris will give them another deadly shooter. Guys like seth and drummond now have time to build chemistry with their teammates. Marks is a good enough GM where I would be confident in his ability to re-tool the bench and role players. The only thing I'm worried about other than health is coaching. Nash has not shown that he is good enough, but narratives can change, just look at JKidd.

People laugh at their failures this season, but they have a squad and imo can contend with anybody.

lol ben

good luck with that

In the right role I don't see why he cannot contribute in a similar manner to draymond green. There's a place in basketball for guys that contribute in different facets of the game other than shooting. While not ideal, anyone that understands basketball would know this. BS is a multiple time all star. As long as there are guys that can score and shoot around him, which the nets have, he can contribute positively.

draymond has iq and actually enjoys playing

They didn’t fold for Kyries bluff. Kyrie obviously wanted to leave but he wasn’t able to scare the nets into trading him for Westbrook.

Definitely, the FO finally stood up to Kyrie and it's about time.

Wonder how many games he misses if they don't trade him by the deadline?

Read on Twitter

Kyrie can now be traded as an expiring contract with likely much better offers.

It was either LA or nothing for Kyrie. There was no way LA could get him without Kyrie taking the MLE, so his best option was staying in Brooklyn. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyrie is chilling with Simmons asking him how to get to LA

Irving figures out no one wants his sorry ass. The only reason the Lakers wanted him was he was a step up from Westbrick.

I get what you are saying, but if you don't think ben can help this team you don't understand basketball. I'm not saying it will work out, I'm saying they needed a guy with his abilities.

He'll never need to, imo. If the Nets actually think he's serious about it, they'll trade for WB and picks and try to flip them+their own picks for some decent players. Everyone talks about the irrationality of Kyrie, but the Nets would be irrational to let him walk for nothing. Theyre really gonna play a game of chicken with Kyrie? lmaooooo

What picks? This sounds like a post advertised by the Lakers management.

Lakers have 2 first rounders to trade. Like i said, a lot of people are gonna be disappointed if/when this happens. If Kyrie has a legit threat of just walking away, then expiring salary filler+2 1st rounders is far, far better than the alternative. Easy for everyone to see where Kyrie is being irrational, but this would be the Nets FO being irrational

How'd that go again chief?

Opting in was the only realistic way Kyrie was leaving the Nets to one of his destinations anyway. It looks like Woj isn't necessarily echoing Shams' tone about this whole thing.

I think Kyrie's told the Nets he's leaving in a year and that they can do with that what they will. Which means they'll definitely trade him.

They should doubt there are many trades for him especially since he is in a contract year

Not many teams have a lot of salary cap space and most teams weren't willing to give up a lot of assets to get Kyrie Irving,so he was at a disadvantage when it comes to the negotiantions. I wouldn't be suprised if the Nets get bounced out in the 1st or 2nd round again,we might be having this conversation again next year. If they get futher than that however ,I see the Nets being willing to sign a long term deal with him.
