What are you basing this off of exactly? Is it that those same fans you are referring to are willing to trade brown for better players?

KD is 34 when season starts. How much longer is 34 then 35 then 36 year KD will still be better than JB? I would say 26 year old JB is better than 35 year old KD.

I'll take that bet. The gap between them is so large KD could drop off some and still be a far better player than brown will ever be.

Agree to disagree.

No chance. KDs age is a red flag regardless of this past year's numbers. Teams keep betting on these old players and losing.

KD is a humble Christian man who only cares about basketball. This is not Harden we are talking about.

KD is definitely male, Christian and not Harden. But I wouldn't assume his sexual practices follow the recommendations of any particular denomination or church. He is definitely known to have non-basketball interests, and to have stated they influenced his choice of teams.

As for "humble" ...

Honestly, this thread is a lot less hostile than I was expecting. Two dudes went at it pretty hard, but otherwise it’s been mostly well behaved.

Yeah, it's just a few guys, who probably have 10,000 trade Jaylen post between them over the past few years.

You said this to me yesterday about Wiseman, and it was completely out of context. The topic barely ever came up, and when it did, the question posed was if the Wolves pick conveyed to the Warriors 4th or 5th in a very strong draft, would that be enough to package it with Wiseman and Looney for Jaylen? Wasn't even advocating for it. More just a topic for discussion and thinking they would at least need to consider it.

THAT'S what you are offended about? And speculation about possible trading him for one of the greatest players ever?

Stop being so precious and calm down. This is a basketball discussion board, and he's not your family member.

Booker for Durant makes more sense to me. If Phoenix trades Bridges and Ayton their defense will fall apart. Yes Durant is a very good defender but you would be asking him to do too much. If it's a Booker Durant swap Phoneix will still have the team around Durant to make a run (wing defenders - Bridges, Crowder big - Ayton, 2nd scorer - CP3). Much better piece going back to Brooklyn too.

That is insane. In two years Brown enters his prime and Durant is thinking Retirement.

Jaylen has 2 years left and KD is flat out better so it's not insane at all.

Durant picking Pho over Bos is the Durant-like move.

It doesn't look like KD is going anywhere. Kyrie is staying in BK and it looks like they're keeping the band together after all that.

The Nets only have 7 guys left under contract if Durant wanted to move on:

44,119,845 Kevin Durant
36,934,950 Kyrie Irving (just exercised option)
35,448,672 Ben Simmons
18,642,857 Joe Harris
8,496,653 Seth Curry
3,925,000 Jevon Carter
2,138,160 Cam Thomas
2,109,480 Day'Ron Sharpe

If the Nets traded Durant, they would need to receive at least 32,989,883 in salary back.

17,457,142 Marcus Smart (includes $250,000 Trade Kicker)
9,998,524 Daniel Theis (includes 15% Trade Kicker)
3,804,360 Aaron Nesmith
would need to include EITHER Stauskas OR Pritchard to have enough outgoing salary
2024 and 2026 Unprotected 1rst Round Picks

Celtics remaining:
C: Al Horford / Rob Williams III
PF: Kevin Durant / Grant Williams / Malik Fitts
SF: Jayson Tatum / Sam Hauser
SG: Jaylen Brown / one of Pritchard OR Stauskas would still be around
PG: Derrick White / ........... / JD Davison (2022 #53 pick)

Plus the $6.5 Million MLE would still be available.

Salary Structure
44,119,845 Kevin Durant
30,351,780 Jayson Tatum
28,741,071 Jaylen Brown
26,500,000 Al Horford
16,892,357 Derrick White
10,937,502 Rob Williams III
4,306,281 Grant Williams
1,752,638 Malik Fitts
1,563,518 Sam Hauser
800,000 JD Davison ?
92,857 Demetrius Jackson stretch

plus Pritchard (2.2M) or Stauskas (1.7M against cap)
Total is around 168M for 11 players

The Nets with KD, Kyrie and Simmons…provided they’re healthy, is scarier than last season with Harden. It’s just a much better constructed team. Simmons makes up Kyries lack of defense and KD and Kyrie benefit from Simmons’ playmaking. Simmons benefits by not needing to worry about scoring and his slashing is improved due to better spacing. Obviously it’s a huge IF but add the Nets to the list of legit contenders to come out of the East

I really don’t think Durant should be lumped in with those two lol. Dude is a hooper, who praises the hell out of the Celtics any chance he gets.

Yeah we all know he’s sensitive, that’s nothing though lol.

Durant is a great player but just as much a clown like the other two. Respectfully disagree

Durant is too old. Doesn't fit Tatum's timeline, and will be grossly overpaid in the last two years of his contract.

For the record while this Q was viable, “no” was slightly ahead, but basically a draw.

Good talk everybody. I think I’ll close the voting but leave the thread open for people to savage each other I mean for me to necrobump in three years Comedian it’s a date!
