Kyrie isnt different because he sees the world differently, he sees the the majority and goes opposite just so he can claim to be different.

youre a weirdo. Kyrie decided to stay and youre gloating? Look at what i wrote. All full of "if Kyrie decides to leave"
It was either Kyrie signs for $6 million or Kyrie stays in Brooklyn.
Your scenario of the Lakers trading filler + 2 FRs for Kyrie was never going to happen because the Nets never believed Kyrie would opt out.
So you think if the TMLE threat was real and BRK believed it was real that they would rather go for nothing rather than an expiring contract+2 FRPs? All because F the Lakers? loool

his opt-in probably shows that there was no market out there for him at least not at the dollars he was thinking.

Kyrie's not stupid enough to not opt in. If anything he can act like an idiot and Brooklyn will possibly buy him out late in the season. This circus act Brooklyn has going on will be intriguing to see again.

Nets FO called Kyrie's bluff from day one
How did they call his bluff?
This is all from weird reporting. A lot of the reporters on ESPN was claiming, “according to sources” that the Nets made multiple offers to Kyrie on a Multi-year contract. But supposedly Kyrie wanted a max, so instead of taking a 2 year deal, u take a 1 year deal. What if he gets hurt, he has no security.

Re: Shams: Kyrie Irving opting in
I have never seen the scenario where Kyrie wouldn't opt-in.
He can always request a trade during the season by saying he won't re-sign this summer. Or he can work on a buy-out.
All that is still going to happen unless the Nets dominates the East and be a top 3 seed by ASB.

Re: Shams: Kyrie Irving opting in
Kyrie/KD/Simmons/Harris is a perfect fit on paper.
WAY better defensively than last year.
The Philly picks and trade exceptions also set them up to acquire someone else.
Not to mention they have good shooters and few decent young guys to develop.
Kyrie now has reached a crossroads.
If he decides to show up and the Nets play well he can get a max contract in Brooklyn or somewhere else. If he continues his antics then he probably is done making that type of money.
Let's see how it goes. Nets can easily move off Kyrie if need be through trading his expiring contract.

On paper being the crucial component.
Is Ben Simmons going to be ready to play? Is Kyrie going to want personal leave for stretches during the season? Can Kevin Durant stay healthy?
Why so serious?

If anything they'll get the most out of him. He still cares about money and will want to get paid next summer.

Both players are huge risks.
The good part is the Nets are longer tied to either one. And can rebuild around KD for 1 or 2 more years if need be,

You can say what you want about Irving. But if he’s willing to fulfill his commitment to Brooklyn and ride it out, then good for him. That’s the morally right thing to do on his part. Congrats Brooklyn fans, looks like you’re getting another shot.

Meh there were no better options for him. Where was he going to go to get $37M?TheLand13 wrote:You can say what you want about Irving. Ofcourse not, he's nuts and constantly injured. Any GM that offers Irving a max contract deserves to get fired at this point.Archerbro wrote:his opt-in probably shows that there was no market out there for him at least not at the dollars he was thinking.

I think you have the right attitude. But lean more towards disappointment is my advice so you're prepared but can be pleasantly surprised. Advice based purely on both Simmons and Irvings recent track record.

Re: Shams: Kyrie Irving opting in
Can anyone explain what this quote means in the context of opting in??
"Kyrie Irving: “Normal people keep the world going, but those who dare to be different lead us into tomorrow. I’ve made my decision to opt in. See you in the fall. A11even.”"

Kyrie probably turned vegan recently, cause that's some barfed up word salad right there
About 2018 Cavs:
euroleague wrote:His team would be considered a super-team in other eras, and that's why commentators like Charles Barkley criticize LBJ for his complaining. He has talent on his team, he just doesn't try during the regular season

Kyrie's a bit of a philosopher so his words have many meanings but maybe he's saying that a player of his calibre wouldn't normally opt in but he's different. Not sure about the All Even. Maybe that's his motto or something.

He can still at the very least request a trade. Instead he’s choosing to stay and redeem himself. That’s taking the high road and it’s a sign of maturity on his part.
