I don't want Collins over Murray but not sure how I feel about this either.

If that's the case we're going full-tank, but am not enamored with Wembanyama like you guys, the saga continues...

No Collins :noway:

According to HoopsHype, Gallinari's contract is only guaranteed if he is not waived by 6-29. If he gets waived before then he only gets 5 million. Not sure how that will effect our cap if we trade then release him after 6-29.

Hopefully Atlanta is sending Collins to Sacramento or something for their first. We need another lottery pick besides ours. I DONT WANT ANY GOOD PLAYERS BACK! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US!!

Why us signing DJ to an early extension wouldn't happen:

That's an average of $42M per year. OOF. That's best player on a contender money. Holy ****. Good for him but that can't be us paying him as our timelines don't fit and frankly, as good as DJ has been for us, I don't think he's best player on a contender material.

Never. Sorry, man. We look to be all in on Devin, Primo, etc. Bigger 3&D guards, with new ones coming in.

I think Primo is going to be pegged at the spot. He's 6'6", huge hands and wingspan, dogged defender, super young but that's the direction I think we're going.

In the trade you propose, Devin is more important to us than Suggs is.

Seeing the heat checked in on Dejounte. Curious as to what you guys would want from us? Can’t see it being Herro.

Something like Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, Omer Yurtseven and a couple picks? Would that move the needle?

The info leaking about DJ is single-handedly coming from Atlanta sources. Perhaps it's to exert some pressure on PATFO to take their deal, get DJ upset and push for it or something, but nothing from the Spurs side. Seems like it's quieted down after the feverish 'imminent trade!' rumour tweets with various manifestations as 'the deal'.

Some more info to balance out the narrative:

According to a reliable source, Collins is still not expected to be sent to San Antonio. In fact, in the latest trade talks that took place on Monday, Collins wasn’t in the deal at all.

Initially, Collins was going to be sent to a third team. However, the source says the Hawks no longer have a third team willing to trade worthwhile draft capital for Collins....

There’s talk that the Spurs are looking to trade Murray for three first round draft picks. I’m told that is incorrect.

San Antonio’s asking price for Murray is four first round draft picks with little to no protections. Alternatively, the Spurs want three minimally protected first rounders and two unprotected first round pick swaps.

Interestingly, an insider close to the situation says that the Spurs have multiple teams making a strong push for Murray besides the Hawks. One Eastern Conference team, he says, is offering three first round draft picks and a desirable young player in a proposed swap. He also stated that the Minnesota Timberwolves have expressed serious interest in Murray....

Multiple sources have told me the only player on the Hawks the Spurs would value as a possible replacement for a first round pick is Onyeka Okongwu. The 21-year-old big man averaged 8.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 20.7 minutes per game last season.

On the other hand, the Spurs reportedly view Collins’ $125 million contract as a liability. To match salaries, San Antonio would rather take on Danilo Gallinari and his partially guaranteed contract.

When might a deal be completed? Gallinari’s contract becomes completely guaranteed on June 29th if he’s not released, so that may motivate the Hawks to put their best offer on the table in the next 24 hours.

From San Antonio’s perspective, there doesn’t appear to be much of a rush. Murray is under contract for two more seasons and is coming off of an All-Star campaign. If this trade doesn’t happen, there will undoubtedly be other opportunities.

Per article above, Spurs want multiple first round picks, swaps, unprotected. If they're end of the first round as Heat's would be, then unless we're offered something higher via a third team, it's a no. We also want young prospects. DR and Omer we don't need, Jovic we passed on twice in the draft.

Ask yourself - if you had DJ on your team and another team offered that package, would you take it?

Besides, isn't your team in on Gordon? Would likely be far cheaper in asset swaps.

I'm amused by all the "take this trash, trash, trash and our late first round or 2nd round pick".

You guys need to be offering all that crap to someone who has a decent chance to be in the lottery next year, then trade that pick to us for Murray/Poeltl or whatever.

We'll take whatever salary dump you want to get a chance at another lottery pick next year. I would even help the Lakers and take Westbrook's contract if they could somehow get their hands on a decent pick next year to give to us.

Find a decent 2023 first round pick and we can talk.(Not yours, because its gonna be 25-30th) I like Jovic and wished we drafted him but now I see why we passed.

Got a potential lottery pick in 2023?

If not, find one and you can have anyone you want. :D

Shady as hell. Plus those picks are heavily protected anyway. So I'd consider this more smoke. The true suitor has yet to be made public...
