Nice move by Minny. Reasonable deal for a solid wing. Worst case scenario he’s a decent trade chip.

Below full MLE in a market with very few big wings? Nah it's a good deal both ways IMO.

Minnesota is a bit like Portland such that an overpay is necessary to keep even below average players. This is expected for such a market, but better markets and contenders get better players for cheaper.

Well they have his early/full bird rights so at least they still have their non-taxpayer MLE to play with if need be. Prince isn't a bad player for the most part so I'll give it a B.

He's always reminded me of Jae Crowder but without the edge / bravado.

I like it. 6% of the cap for a rotation guy is not an overpay lol

I think the second year being non-guaranteed makes this pretty good for Minny. Seems like about market rate, and they keep future flexibility.

How is this overpay lol ? This is a good deal for Wolves, especially with 2nd year being non-guaranteed. 2nd year being non-guaranteed means Wolves will still have a max slot available in next off-season

i think the scarcity of bigger wing players helped his value. he can also be used as a trade chip (because of said scarcity), so maybe that is minny's angle. because he was extended and not re-signed he's able to be traded as soon as thursday.

Felt he was underutilized for most of the season. He was one of our most valuable players after all-star break, then had his minutes cut in the playoffs.

Good deal, he's only a few years removed from 15/5/3 with good 3pt shooting. Per 36 numbers were productive this year.

Not an overpay, good deal for MN. I thought Prince would command more honestly!

He got considerably better as the year went on, averaging double-figures in points after the All-Star break and shooting north of 35% from 3 land. In addition, according to all reports he's a good guy to have in the locker room too. $8 million/year is pretty good for that. He's likely going to play more of hist natural position and less 4 under the new regime who are nixing the ridiculous "small ball" approach that had us playing- even starting - 6'4" SG Josh Okogie at PF at times.

Outsiders are acting like this is going to keep the Timberwolves from signing Lavine or Beal. The Wolves aren't ever going to sign a free agent. Cap space doesn't mean anything.

Sincerely, a Nuggets fan who's team has only signed Kenyon Martin and Paul Millsap basically ever.

A bit too much based solely off of production, but he's been a big locker room presence, which is necessary for a young team like the Timberwolves. The non-guarantee is the saver.

I was super high on Prince when he entered the league. He has had a solid career, but has been pretty disappointing. With his size and skill set, it feels like he should've been a bit better than he is.

I thought this was Tayshaun Prince and I was very confused. "2 year deal? That guy has been in the league for 20 years!"
