Better be getting a 1st rounder or two with them…

Both have team options for next summer, so it's not long-term salary added. I would think there's some other form of compensation following though. Right?

both have team options so its essentially kicking the can down the road on that cap space

Two 2nd rounders is not enough incentive to take on $19 million.

Didn’t the Knicks get multiple future 1st rounders from trades in this draft?

Wow that's a trash return to take on all that salary.... compared to getting the #13 pick for taking on just Kemba.

Gores cashing in getting $6 million to pocket and this gets him to the salary minimum after we pay Bagley. Other teams with FAs (Ayton, Bridges) just got excited because there goes a big chunk of the available cap space that is greater than MLE this summer. Granted, our 2023 2nd rounder and that $6 million could easily buy into the first round but we all know we won't be using it to buy a pick. Gores pocketed cash for taking DeAndre Jordan last year as well. He wants to get his $6 million max in cash each year he can.

That takes a little wind out of my sails, really.

That original deal with the Knicks felt a little too good. Maybe this was a hidden cost?

Minus $6 million in cash.

This trade makes it pretty clear to me that there isn't going to be a big name signing this offseason.

It’s better than blowing our wad on Bridges

Seems like it to me. That Duren deal seemed way too good to be true.

I was hoping we’d try and sign some shooting this off-season. This puts a real damper on that idea.

I also HATE deals where we have money coming back. That’s effectively the owner leveraging team assets (in this case cap space) for his own pay day.

Is there still a chance for Ayton in all of this?

Team options make these flippable contracts if we do a sign and trade during FA but I wouldn't mind keeping Burks for this season's rotation.

Burks has shot 40%+ from 3pt in each of the last 3 seasons, I wouldn't be surprised if he's starting if Bey slides to the 4
