Let me start by saying I know. I KNOW. But let's have fun and be open minded here. What does it take for KD traded to Sac?

Keegan + Barnes + Mitchell + 1sts?
Idk maybe that's over shooting. But feels like KD will get to pick his team regardless if he has a no trade clause or not.

Re: THE Off-Season Thread 2022-23
Actually they load managed OPJ a lot. Speculation was that that was part of the deal, he'd play last season for the Warriors on a minimum salary but they'd manage minutes for him and not play him in a lot of back to backs.
But maybe he has ties to Brown, I"m not sure.
If Kings offer 3/24, Warriors probably won't match that.

Ok. Let's play for fun as this won't happen. For this scenario the Nets have demanded you clear their books as they want as much cap space as possible to build around/with (gulp) Ben Simmons.
So, any KD trade requires Harris to be gone too. That means you need to get to at least $47,072,028 in salary and the majority needs to be expiring.
Trade #1
Holmes/'23 2nd for Plumlee
KD Trade:
Kings trade: (Receive KD/Joe Harris)
Barnes - 18,352,273 Expiring
Plumlee - 8,525,000 Expiring
Holiday - 6,292,440 Expiring
Harkless - 4,564,980 Expiring
Murray - $6,670,700
Mitchell - 4,833,600
2023 1st, 2024 Pick Swap, 2025 1st, 2026 pick swap, 2027 1st
Why for Kings. For KD. Finally, have the #1 option they require. Signs DDV/Jones. Sign GPII for MLE or part of. Need to find some other guys to round out roster, but shouldn't be too hard with KD/Sabonis/Fox.
Fox/DDV/
Harris/Davis/
GPII/
KD/Lyles/Metu
Sabonis/Jones/Len
Why for Nets:
Next season you see how Simmons/Murray/Davion works out. Loads of D and the two incoming Kings can hit the 3. Quick rebuild could be on the cards with cap space for two max contracts after next season. Mills gets to mentor Davion for next season.
More than $52m in expiring contracts if they want to go another route and get picks along the way.
Would fill out the roster with some young players. Trades of Seth, Barnes, Holiday, Plumlee to contenders is on the cards. May even Tank for Victor.
Davion/Mills
Simmons/Curry/Thomas
Barnes/Holiday/Edwards
Murray/Sharpe/Harkless
Plumlee

What do you think about the VIctor Oladipo rumor? I do not think he is willing to be a backup if had comes here, wants to build value

Yea that's probably Sacramento's best offer and I'm not so sure the Kings should do that for 34 year old Kevin.OxAndFox wrote:City of Trees wrote:Let me start by saying I know. I KNOW. But let's have fun and be open minded here. What does it take for KD traded to Sac?

If we can get him here on a one year vet minimum then I'm all for it.

I like Dipo, really does everything you want from a 2g. Active defensively, can score, can pass. Obviously his biggest downfall is his injuries, before that he was an all-star level player. Miami has stuck it out with him for 2 years, they trusted him in the playoffs, so my best guess is he returns back there at least 1 more year.
Healthy Dipo would elevate the Kings. Problem is you can't count on him to be healthy. If the price was right, id be happy to bring him in. Kind of upside risk the Kings need.

I doubt we could get him at the vet minimum. For that price hes probably back in Miami or going to LA. Id give him a little bit more than that.
Id love one of those Vlade style deals. 1+1, 8-10 million total and id be on board.

Oladipo would be the starting 2 guard if he is brought here in Sacramento. Dude still has something in the tank.
The question is how much $$$ and will he be healthy?

Re: THE Off-Season Thread 2022-23
I want to see what the Kings do with DDV. That would be the main question for me entering the offseason.
Also, according to Ham, the Kings picked up Lyles option. I like it. Another asset to have since he is a decent player and an expiring too.

For some reason, I still have either Davion or DDV as the starting 2. It would leave the main
Does anyone else also get the feeling Monte is going to go after Collins and the Kings will start Murray at the #3?
His defensive ability would allow him to play the 3 IMO. When you watch Murray guard smaller/quicker players he still does a great job of moving his feet and staying in front.

Re: THE Off-Season Thread 2022-23
Was reading this morning that the Spurs are expected to let Lonnie Walker walk (lol).
With Primo, Vassell, Branham, Wesley, Richardson they have a ton of options already at the 2 spot.
2 things -
Id love to target Richardson to play the backup 3 spot for us.
What do you guys think about going after Lonnie Walker? He had a really nice stretch in Feb-March with 10 games over 17pts, 8 of them over 20, and a 30 point game in the mix. I liked this guy a lot coming out, not sure why he never caught on exactly, but this feels like a high upside risk at a low cost for Sacramento.

I’m a fan of Lonnie the person. As a player, he seems to have gone the bench scorer route and I don’t see much potential above that. That being said, the Kings absolutely need a bench scorer. I’d love to see them target he likes of Lonnie and Malik Monk.

Agreed.
I see DDV/Davis as similar players. Both streaky shooters, both solid defenders, both can bring the ball up the court but its not their strength. I was more impressed by Davis than DDV honestly. Id prefer more a microwave guy off the bench if we can't get a real upgrade. Helps take some pressure off Fox being able to create his own shot.
S&T DDV opens the door for us to be able to use the TPE later this season on a player who becomes available.
I'm torn. I did like DDV before we got him, but his time here didn't leave me excited. And his attitude really turned me off. If we resign him I hope we see a different player than the 20 or so games we got last season.

Wtf is Monte doing? Tendering the QO gives Monte the “flexibility” he’s always talking about.

Re: THE Off-Season Thread 2022-23
The QO would have been a $14M cap hold.
I'm not losing sleep over DDV.
I know the narrative has been the Kings limited DDV's minutes to keep his price tag low but if we take a step back and re examine his tenure it appears the Kings never liked what they saw.
