Bit of a conundrum for Dallas, you either resign Brunson and hope you can accumulate enough other assets to get Dallas a contender-worthy #2 option or you let him walk and hope you can strike gold in free agency next summer.

They ago get Ayton then. They lost nothing by making that trade either honestly. Not getting Brunson is OK because they have money to spend still be it this year or next. Or they can make a trade into cap space. Surely not a terrible move for the Knicks isn't like they gave away the farm.

Not sure I am overpaying Brunson if I am Dallas. If nothing else Luka should be able to find another guy who wants to play with him.

they needed to move our vets last season. There wasn't enough playing time for Reddish, Iq, Grimes, Mcbride, Sims because of Burks and Noel

Weak FA class like it tends to be anymore. Lavine, Beal ETC... likely all taking the money and resigning with their current team (before demanding a trade) Fringe guys like Brunson going to get paid (see Malcom Brogdon)

Nobody got better treatment than TMac did from Jerry Krause. Aside from having a parade at the airport for him, he let him punch him in the belly and neck and let people bet on how long he would jiggle. That is first class treatment.

Ha well sleep well it won't be that and Brunson might be dodging a bullet anyway.... ultimately though I think he is a Knick without a doubt. I saw him in HS and he was a stud then. Good for him cashing in.

Actually, I think finding people who like playing with Luka long-term will be a problem. He's not a bad guy at all but his style of play can take the fun out of the game for other ball handlers.
