Actually, I see this as good news for the Nets franchise, as KD still has insane value so the value lost can still be recouped. You need a miracle to win a championship with Kyrie, even disregarding all the off-court shenanigans, he is just way too injury prone. Better move on from now and go back to what was working, the youth movement.
This is what I've been saying for days on here. Sell KD now while his value is high to recoup picks and prospects
We weren't winning with him. KD is a) not a leader, b) often injured c) and in the Boston series he showed the first signs of decline.
I'm good.
Facts. Objectively, this is the best outcome for the franchise. Players like KD you cannot trade unless they request it, so now that the cat is out of the bag, might as well look at it for what it is. Ask Laker fans, they wish they can flip LBJ and AD for assets and play out the season with Westbrick and start the next with a clean slate, but they can't.
The goal is to win a championship, not sell tickets for the owner to pocket deep. The window for this team closed as soon as the Harden debacle happened. Time to move on.
