I disagree. Durant would want to play with Zach.

I really don’t see how we or anyone can beat a package of Ayton & Cam Johnson, Mikael Bridges and picks for KD.. allowing KD to pair with Paul and Booker.

Didn’t Durant just sign an extension ? I’m sick of these superstars requesting for trade whenever they feel like it and setting their teams upside down. If I were the Nets I wouldn’t trade him, at this stage of Durants career he wouldn’t want to sit out games.

I hope that happens. They gut that franchise, CP3 retires after the season or falls off a cliff due to his age and objet history, and KD demands out again.

I’m honestly surprised ghat people are wanting to go after KD. This feels like the Melo situation all over again, albeit a better player, but a player who just causes a lot more headaches.
Why so serious?

There is no point to the trade if they are including LaVine. It would have to be something like Pat, Derozan, Ayo and every pick they have left. I don't even think that sniffs what other teams can offer.

I think people forget that the Nets have to be a playoff team. They have to cap space and have no picks for years.

DeRozan, Vuc, Ball and White and picks for Kyrie and KD. Net's have Ball, Simmons, Harris, DeRozan, Vuc, Brown and White to have a solid team to compete for the 8th seed.

Roll out, Kyrie/Lavine/KD/PW/MLE center and AC, AYO and FA's off the bench. I'd go hard for Portis to be that C. And I would really try so sign Dipo to be the 6th man. I think whoever gets Dipo this year is going to get the value signing of the year.

I agree. Anything but DeMar and LaVine. Nice to keeps, which I think can happen, would be Caruso and Ayo. Sign Mo or Hassan Whiteside for C. PJ, I think, would come cheap enough. Bulls are built for short term success and if you don't go all in for a guy like KD, then will you ever?

Whiteside
Durant
DeRozan
LaVine
Caruso

Curry
Terry
Bradley

I like my chances.

If they cannot get him after trying, then go after Ben IMO. Also, I don't think he wins a chip with Miami (he would need to average 35 against the top teams there) or Phoenix (father time is undefeated and I just see CP3 completely breaking down at this point).

Exactly. The Bulls aren’t built to make a dynasty run based on the ages of their core guys. Might as well make a run at a possible title and now’s the time before DeRozan declines. Get the three-headed all-star / superstar monster core here, figure out the rest on the open market and roll the dice.

Lavine for DUrant isn't pointless. Durant is a big upgrade

Obviously, but replace Lavine with Durant and I don't think they are a title contender. Then considering Durant is 33 and could demand another trade at any point the future could be completely ruined.

That's the point though... KD has no leverage. He's under contract for several more years. What's he gonna do? Sit out the last years of his career if he doesn't get exactly what he wants? He wouldn't kill his legacy like that.

Outside of Zach, the Bulls have nothing that comes close to the return value that KD demands. No way the Nets accept anything less than a package that starts with Zach.

Lavine could also blow out his knee again. It's a risk, but Durant gets us a lot closer to a title than whatever the hell we're doing right now

Probably the only way KD lands in Chicago is if he explicitly calls out Chicago as the place he wants to land.

You're probably right, but the fact that this is happening shows that Marks is doing what he thinks is best for the franchise and not giving in to whatever Kyrie and KD want.

Otherwise he'd just give Kyrie the full max and I bet KD stays.

Article came out today saying KD and Kyrie haven't talked since Kyrie opted in and KD demanded a trade and requested Heat/Suns as the teams he wants to go to and that the Nets will accommodate his request.

I just don't agree. You start with Vuc or DeMar, add some combo out of Pat/Ayo/Coby/Terry, add some firsts on top of that, Brooklyn has to at least think about it. Bulls could also surprise and throw Lonzo into the mix.

I can't blame Durant for wanting out. He had to endure last year's disaster with Kyrie not playing because he wouldn't get a vaccine. Plus the guy's a nutcase even still. Harden abandoned ship. Why stay with that mess of a team? I'd want out too.

This is the NBA players have all the power. 76ers tried to old school it and they still had to trade Simmons.

I personally am not a huge fan of Donovans but I thought he had a pretty good reputation round the league? Not sure why having Donovan would count the Bulls out.

KD played for him in OKC and apparently didn't love him.

Oh, duh. completely forgot about that, my bad

Damn Brooklyn asking for Booker in a Durant trade. I guess you have to at lest try for it.

As much as I'd like Durant, I think the Bulls are out of consideration. I thought it would've been great to add him via the farm last year, but here are the updates:

- Lonzo's knee is kinda messed up
- Zach's defense trends down late in the season after wear and tear
- Demar and Vuc's defense is as bad as their reputation suggests
- Pat, Coby, Ayo, Terry, blah are all far too young to help Durant contend; so either you trade them or you retain some of them, but either way, whatever crew is left behind, is not a great supporting cast for Durant

I hope they get involved and try, but IMO it's not the best idea going in on a 34yo and pairing him with stars who can't win regular season games without their defensive support. If Lonzo and Caruso were 100% and improved towards the end of the season, this would be a whole different story, because IMO that'd be a great defensive backcourt to work with Durant (along with Zach). But combined with Demar and Vuc, there's just a lot of overlapping 1-way/low-energy high-usage scorers that spells disaster. On top of all this, I really don't think our best offer can compete: Vuc, Pat, Coby, Ayo, 2 distant FRPs, POR FRP, few pick swaps - something like this? That'd be an awfully risky trade, and still barely competing with whatever PHX and a few others could offer.
