Soriano is that type of player that can get you to the postseason.. not get you to the world series.

I'm so glad that that's been decided. Cubs needn't have shown up for this series.

I don't suppose it has anything to do with the team around him?...

I think the D'Backs are going to have a big inning right here. I just have that feeling.
D'backs beat up on Marmol last time they faced him.

It is a good thing we pulled Zambrano after allowing him to hit in the 6th with the bases loaded.

85 pitches and you yank Z. I had a feeling it could haunt us.

SW, why can't you predict good things? Like Cub victories, and GYBE sexual escapades.

If Lou was going to take Z out the next inning why did we let Z hit with the bases loaded?

Z was either suffering from heat exhaustion or was cramping. I dont think pulling him was planned.

How? 2 solo shots. There's not much you can do about that.

Exactly. I agree it would have been tough to pull him for a pinch hitter considering how well he was throwing - if I was expecting Z to throw until he lost it. However, if we knew he was only going to throw one more inning, no matter what, then I would have rolled the dice and pinch hit given that there is a good chance that was going to be our best chance to add runs for the rest of the game.

I don't get it either. Getting a win in the first game is huge. You don't worry about getting your pitcher extra rest for game 4 when game 1 isn't over.
