signing mitch is like having a trade exception because his cap hold is so low.you can't use that money on anyone else. it never made sense to let him walk unless it was gonna be a crazy amount or your plan was to sign nobody and clear the books. but you'd have to find a home for evan and randle and dump rj too before the year is up.

True, you never know especially with him being unrestricted and can just sign anywhere. At this point seems like he'll be back

Surprised Bamba back to the Magic, thought he wanted out but so much for that. Bamba at 2/$22 better than Mitch at 4/$56 but it is what it is.

Knicks used his small cap hold as a way to get more in free agency even though one of the guys plays the same position.

Will be interesting to see if the Brunson deal ends up being a sign and trade. I remember last year there were several FA signings that turned into S&T deals.

Would only make sense if they think they can get another FA
