Good luck JB, thanks for a great PO run, and thanks for having Luka's back when he was out of shape or injured.

*110m

And yeah as much as I enjoyed JB in a Mavs uni at that price tag I don't think we should've matched that if given the chance.

For 110/4? Lmao, Knicks think they got Doncic or someone similar  Reality will hit hard for him when his next best guy is RJ.

That is a lot of money for someone whose best role is being 6th Man.

That is way over priced and he is not enough of a defender to warrant that much money if you ask me

We have too many guys that can pick up the slack with him gone and most of them are better defenders as well.

I have never been a big Jalen Brunson fan. He's an undersized, yet skilled, Point Guard, who looks for his shot first, second & third. Not an admirable quality for a PG; especially one that needs to share the ball with a ball dominant, once-in-a-lifetime player like Luka.

The worst part for me was the times you needed Brunson to step up & take over. Like the Clippers playoff series in '20-'21. That Jalen Brunson doesn't even deserve the Mavs $6.3 MLE. So, I am more than fine with Brunson walking for a 4 year $110M deal. Let the Knicks take that gamboooool.

The only thing that bothers me is the Mavs could have signed Brunson for less (4 yr $55.5 M deal) right before the ASB. OR, they could have traded him before the deadline. Instead, we're left empty handed. That sucks. Because Brunson was an asset. Hard to believe the Mavs couldn't have at least swung a sign & trade with the Knicks to recoup some value. Hard to win making moves like this.

Knicks just made a huge mistake. Brunson seems like a good locker room guy and he can definitely score, but he’s undersized and a scarecrow on defense. They basically just paid starting PG money for someone who is not a starting PG caliber player. The Mavs dodged a bullet on this one. If they would have signed him for a 4 year 55 million contract that they could have done earlier that would have been fine. But that is a bonkers contract.

I do believe we dodged a bullet longterm but it's disappointing we lose him for nothing.

I think Brunson is really gone early working extraordinarily hard past few seasons. Looking back, Brunson actually wants out badly.

Anyway, Brunson plays hard but pairing with Luka is problematic especially against good teams. You can't hide so many liability. That's a hard fact. If it's overpaying, the Mavs has to move on.

Knicks fan and it looks like half your team came from us. We've always had a pretty good relationship. I was actually sorry to see Timmy and Frank leave. KP was a calculated gamble that almost had to be taken. We all hated KP for what he "did to us", loyalty wise.

I think not signing Brunson earlier, when you had the chance, was a colossal mistake (on Cuban), but it happens to all of us. The Knicks probably resign Mitchell Robinson, but he was in EXACTLY the same situation as Brunson. Knicks pushed it off and now are paying.

From Brunson's perspective it is clear - he wants to lead a team and be The PG. That isn't going to happen with Luka. The best thing you guys can do is to get a great combo guard (who plays high level defense) next to Luka. Brunson knows he was trade fodder if he stayed in Dallas. That was most likely the reason they didn't resign him, they were hoping for a superstar trade.

I'm happy with got Brunson for free as opposed to giving up the farm like Atlanta did for Murray. (And he is a bad shooter, but a great stats guy.)

I'm not even sure if the Knicks will offer Fournier or even a TPE now as it is in NY's best interests to make that 23' Dallas 1st round pick the best it can be. But to avoid bad blood, I'd offer Fournier. Brunson is an All Star on Defense compared to Fournier, but boy can Fournier shoot and he can create his own shot as well.

Lastly, Brunson is a VERY good PG. I don't see many NY fans having a problem with him. We haven't had a PG as good as Brunson in decades. He handles the ball on a string, is incredibly efficient at finishing and is a very strong (40%) 3pt shooter (albeit at only 3 attempts a game.) His defense is good, but he is relatively short so is going to get abused by taller guards. He tries but so does Fournier - only so much you can do with genetics.

Good luck to you guys. You are lucky to have Luka. Fun generational player to watch.

He is a tough guy and an hard worker, he will play well for sure. Not a bust.
But his defense is not good, you have to help and hide him at any cost.

He can't play with Luka. That's the point.

Anyway good luck for you my friend
