He may retire with the distinction of being the best not to have his number retired anywhere. There is a real chance. # retirements reflect the feeling fans and management have for the players. Orlando never retired Howard or Shaq's number for instance due to how much mgmt remained pissed at them. Anthony Davis will not get his number retired in New Orleans due to fan sentiment.
Feelings are ambivalent about Durant in the Bay Area and OKC. I don't really think the bitterness of either fanbases is legitimate but it doesn't matter. It does exist. Brooklyn mgmt will outright hate him based on how these 3 yrs went with his enabling of Kyrie.
