Posted this in the trade board:

There are a few issues with a Conley/Bojan for Harris swap that I think make it obvious what pieces would be involved:

(1) Thybulle doesn't fit with Gobert, we can't have two players in our starting five who absolutely cannot shoot (see Rubio + Favors + Gobert). He could go to a third team but I think that makes the execution a little more complicated.
(2) Korkmaz has no role on our team (same with Milton, but he's very cheap this year). We already have plenty of players who can score points in bunches but can't defend. We'll keep Clarkson who is a bit more dynamic and beloved throughout the organization and in the community.
(3) Philly has no picks to give up

So, my solution is to assume that (a) Philly owes value for the money on Harris that exceeds Conley's in his final year, and (b) they owe value for getting two very good rotation players for one. I am calling the value they owe *approximately* 2 1sts in value. I've picked Springer because I like him and still value him like a first, and I've assumed 2 protected pick swaps = 1 protected pick.

PHI trades: Tobias Harris, Jaden Springer, 2024 or 2025 pick swap (1-4 protected, 2nd --- depends on when OKC takes our pick), 2029 pick swap (1-4 protected, 2nd)
UTA trades: Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic

Philly gets two good rotation players for the salary of one good rotation player (Springer, I think, will develop but he is really young). Utah gets a forward who can rebound a bit better than Bogey and a young guard who fits well with Mitchell (hypothetically) as a bigger, athletic (and very physical) guard who can share playmaking responsibility.

Help me out. I have heard Conley to Indiana from several different places. I don't understand why Indiana would do that.

First I think Indiana needs to decide if they are going to rebuild or just make a couple minor changes. Haliburton has to be the starting PG so is Conley playing back up at $23M per year? I understand Conley has 2 years left on his deal just like Brogdon and Conley's 2nd year is only partially guaranteed. I would think Indiana would want something other than than an expensive old vet (No disrespect meant to Conley) that is not part of their long term plans or can't really be moved for somebody else.

I have thought about Myles Turner for the Jazz if Gobert gets moved (but I don't know how). I like his toughness and while he is not a great 3 point shooter, he is ok for a center.

My understanding is that conleys second year is $14m guaranteed?

I get that Conley's 2nd year is only partially guaranteed but why would Indiana give up Brogdon for Conley? I would think Indiana could more value for Brogdon. Brogdon is younger and bigger.

With the Wizards/Nuggets trade, one of the more likely teams that the Jazz could have traded Conley to is out.

I read conflicting accounts of whether Brogdon is worth a decent player and/or asset or that he is a negative contract. If the Pacers wanted to save money, they could do a Conley/Brogdon swap and save a year and between $20M-$30M.

The trade possibilities for Conley seem to be diminishing.

My heart stopped when I saw a post in Basketball Forever (taken down already) stating Mitchell has been traded for Herro, Robinson, Yurtseven, and picks!

First domino. There better be more or else the team will have ZERO perimeter defense.

Caleb Martin could be a cheaper and better replacement (hopefully as a backup).

Going after KD... unrealistic but still fun

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=23vuq7ef

Brooklyn trades KD and Kyrie
Brooklyn receives Westbrook, Mitchell, Rudy Gay

Lakers trade Westbrook, THT
Lakers receive Irving, Huerter

Atlanta trades Collins, Huerter
Atlanta receives Bojan, Clarkson, THT

Utah trades Mitchell, Clarkson, Bojan, Gay
Utah receives Durant, Collins

Brooklyn will never get back equal value but Westbrook, Mitchell as your guard line would be small but man it would be a blast to watch. They both can create shots like crazy.

We would need to find a SG that has some length to offset Conley but Durant, Collins, Gobert would clog up the middle on D and would be a beast on the offensive side.

Lakers would have to send out picks.

Rumors are Kyrie wants back with Lebron so possible. Lakers will do whatever to keep Lebron happy. Who gets the picks and how many?

Read a rumor the Jazz are interested in Gary Trent Jr. I've also read rumors that Toronto is a top suitor for Gobert.

I don't see how Toronto can make a package work for Rudy without a 3rd team, unless Siakam is the centerpiece (leaving the Jazz dead at center). However, in a smaller deal, I wonder what the Jazz would offer for Trent. Bogey or Clarkson involved, perhaps?

Apparently Miami is planning to go after Donovan. Is Greg Sylvander a credible source?

I don't see them trading Bam or Butler in a deal, and Hero + Robinson is nowhere near enough (despite what the big market media says), so I'm not sure what they could possibly do to peak Utah's interest.

Maybe, but Eric Walden with the Trib also reported that the Heat submitted a trade proposal for Mitchell this week.

Heat are trying to get Mitchell but from what Bobby Marks has said, you cannot have two rookie extension players on team if you are trying to acquire one of them via trade. Does that mean we would be getting Bam?

Heat would probably need a third team to get Mitchell. They don't have enough to get it done with the guys they are willing to trade.

..............aaaand I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd rather trade Mitchell over Gobert if we are only trading 1 guy.

From what I understand you can have 2, but can only aquire 1 through trade. Since Bam was drafted by the heat and not traded for, they are allowed to trade for 1 (Mitchell).

That's what it sounds like be reading other posts.

I was watching ESPN and Bobby Marks said that Devin Booker or Bam could not be traded to Brooklyn for Durant because Brooklyn already has a player, Simmons, on a rookie extension.

It probably means Bam would be part of a Durant trade.

Bam can’t go to Brooklyn for Durant because of Simmons.

He can go to a third team, though, and someone will pay out the nose for him.
