Brad Stevens going slow into free agency because he knows he gave us way too much excitement at the draft.

More like a lack of revenue. Some teams earn twice as much as we do.

They’re doing ok:

If ownership can’t afford to invest in the business maybe they should sell to someone who can.

Also assuming that Forbes data is right no team makes even close to double the revenue the Celtics do. Lakers at $316M are highest and we’re at $211M in a pack with most other teams. We still had operating income of $46M and ownership has 10x’d value they paid. Not bad.

Doubt it. They’ll surely take their time, but I think they’ll grant his request at some point.

You’d fit right in on that bench.

Those are largely COVID numbers that don't take into account the true revenue portfolio. The Ws own their stadium and area restaurants/hotels/real estate, have concessions, concerts, and their own ticket resale broker, etc, and are located near the enormous wealth of Silicon Valley, where they can charge preposterous amounts for playoff tickets and have an endless supply of potential minority owners who'd would pump money into the team just for the status.

Celts have pretty much none of those things. When we get past $10m into the tax, it hurts.

Jalen Smith sucks except when he plays the Celtics. Then he looks like an all-star. I would definitely prefer him to Gallo.

I don't think Grant needs to be "jumped" in the depth chart. But he probably should me more at 20 minutes/game instead of the 28 he played in the playoffs this year. And then Horford should have his minutes cut by 8-10 from the 35 per game he played these playoffs. So that right there carves out your Gallo or other stretch 4 minutes.

A better big than Theis would be nice but he's more than ok enough to fill that regular season slot. It just leaves us dependent on health for Rob/Al, but there's always a limit to how much resources you can allocate to someone who you don't want in your playoff rotation other than injury.

Ok that's fair. Imo Stevens can't work around the edges. Opposition injuries were a part of our success. And the opposition is gearing up as there's no clear favorite yet. I want Stevens to go bold and capitalize on our core now. We gotta big target on our back now. Let's meet the challenge.

Should ALWAYS be exploring big time improvements. Wouldn't be doing your job otherwise. But I genuinely do think mostly running it back should be an option. I really, really, really like our top 7 players and how they fit. I genuinely think we just need to add to that vs swapping any of them out, obviously unless something good came up (i.e. Durant).

I think the goal this offseason should be two more guys for the playoff rotation who can SHOOT. I don't even care if they're our 8th and 9th overall players in the rotation, but they should be the 1st and 2nd best shooters in the rotation. I think the biggest part of the offensive stagnation we had at times was lack of spacing. All of our top 7 are "all around" type of players vs. true floor spacers. Just inject a bit of spacing into the lineup and I think you see it pay huge dividends.

From the list above Lamb and Divicenzo might be the best floor spacing shooters. Sexton might be the best scorer of the list. Gallo along with Horf Rob Theis is a good addition. The Robinson suggestion from someone was really nice. Give me Gallo and Robinson and our front court will scrap with the Easts best.

If you need an agent, I'm happy to reduce the standard fee somewhat. I know a little something about contract law. Mostly, how to spell 'contract law'.

good, there's something we agree on haha.

yeah i think you were the one who made the puppy dog comment too so i figured you'd be onboard with Crowder.

I think suns are first trying to see what's gonna happen with ayton/durant. then they might trade us crowder..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I could live with Divincenzo, but the best TPE options are all 2/3s who can shoot.. Gallo and Kennard would give us a big offensive boost but the defense would be weaker.. probably worth the tradeoff, but I’d be surprised after all Brad’s comments until now.

Drummond to the Bulls. If that's MLE, Gallo is ours. Mwahahahahahahah!

scenario A
TPE = crowder
MLE = Divencenzo/bruce brown

Or
scenario B
TPE = kennard/mcdermott/Clarkson/j-rich
MLE = Gallo/OPJ
