I'd like Oubre, too. He's kind of a lesser facsimile of Jaylen. Does a lot of the same things, is similarly athletic, etc. He'd be a pretty good get.

Reports are they’re waiting for Gallinari — who is still under contract with SAS for another week or so — to decide between their offer and Chicago’s.

You can’t spend money without someone agreeing to sign with you.

Not to be rude but they should not waste time on one player. If the owners given the okay to spend .. they should spend. Players are being available left and right.

Imagine gallinari signs somewhere else.. that’s a lot of time lost and players. I’m just pissed they need upgrade their bench…

He's that same vibe of player who puts up good numbers but doesn't do it within a team construct. Can't space the floor for others, focuses on his own shot. Inconsistent effort. He's the same kind of stat sheet guy where then you watch him and you're like "ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh this isn't what I thought"

Some big names could still be on the move... Ayton, KD, Mitchell, Collins, Kyrie, Theis... Gonna be a long week/month.

Portland offered Bruce Brown 8 million.. we can get him for 6.. he’s the best player available, the best fit. He can be another Crowder for us, or better. Worry about the scoring/playmaking need with the TPE and follow-up trades.

1) eh, teams don't really play that way (picking on certain defenders) very much until playoff time

2) when they do pick on a defender, it's usually either like an undersized defender they are abusing in the post, or a perimeter player who is really slow. Gallo isn't guarding guys like kyrie/harden/curry out on the perimeter and he's not defending bigs in the post. He's not really the type of guy who you're going to pick on.. just based on the the matchups he usually has on D and the way offenses usually operate.. I think for a guy playing 15-20 mins a game to give us some offensive spark off the bench, he'd be ok

But the defensive concerns is why I would prefer OPJ to him..

A simple pick and roll gets him isolated or he drops and gets a 3 in his face. I'm fine with the signing if it happens for the O, but I don't you can just handwave away the D impact even in regular season.

It's usually the center, not the PF who is the big man in PnR coverage though. Which is 1 reason why centers are much more important to a defense than PF..

Gallo is a PF and would barely ever play center here..

Sure, but pretty easy adjustment to have gallos guy do the screen instead of Horfords or robs

How so?

Oubre is terrible with everything that involves awareness. He doesn't move the ball AT ALL among other things. If we are surrounding Tatum and Brown with guys that make smart decisions, he would be near the bottom of the list.

I worry you'd just be paying a TON more for the exact same role Pritchard has here. Sure he's more talented but that doesn't mean his role within the construct of the team would be all that different.
