Having Marcus Smart as your third option doesn't work, which is often the case. Find someone to shoulder that third spot and the team will be better. No, white doesn't count.
I don't believe in statistics. There are too many factors that can't be measured. You can't measure a ballplayer's heart. -Red Auerbach

Marcus Smart is an underrated shooter

I agree Smart isn't a good third option. But what's an example of a player you deem worthy of being a third option?

To an extent. A guy like Jordan Clarkson can score, for example. But he can't shoot so he won't space the floor. So he won't help from defenses collapsing in on Tatum or Brown. Another guy who can score is going to take the ball out of Tatum/Brown's hands some, and anyone we get is going to be a worse option than them. A shooter will keep the ball in Tatum/Brown hands driving inside, but with much more room to operate.

People always talk about your stars making others better, but I'm a big fan of getting "others" who make the stars better. Shooters are going to space the floor for them and give them room to work more freely.

the ball needs to be out of their hands more. we need someone to do something when jt is on the bench. we have shooting, we need a bench scorer.

edit: i mean, we could add another consistent shooter, but our priority should be a bench scorer tho.

Would've preferred Ingles over Gallo if we're picking between two no-defense forwards who can shoot and have injury history. Jingles can playmake more than Gallo, who more often than not, looks for his own shot.

Bucks had a need, filled a need within first hour of FA. They're still the team to catch in the East.

Why not just send him home? Don't honor his trade request. Don't free him from his contractual obligation. He made your life difficult. Why does he get off scot-free?

Gallo is a PF and would barely ever play center here..

Sure, but pretty easy adjustment to have gallos guy do the screen instead of Horfords or robs

Perhaps. But now you're asking a guy (gallo's guy) play a role and do something out on the court he's not used to doing, you're taking that team out of their normal gameplan/rhythm..

Just saying, people don't usually hunt mismatches vs PF's. PG's, wings and centers will sometimes get abused. Just my opinion that the 4 spot is the easiest spot to hide a poor defender.

Of course Udoka does like his 4's to be good, switchable defenders, though (Al, Grant). So it all goes back to how much do they want gallo's scoring, does it balance out his defense..and for how much on the contract, does gallo choose a different team..

Yeah, I get that. And, again, I'm on board with signing him, it just seemed like you were being a touch dismissive of the ability of teams to attack him. If the other team sees Smart, Jaylen, Tatum, Gallo, Rob, they'll find a way to involve Gallo on D. Agreed that regular season they won't spend as much time planning to attack a 20 minute bench guy, but the guys on the other side will smell him when he walks out there, lol.

I think the pros outweigh the cons, just not going in blindly on the cons.

Gallo for a year I can live with, as long as Ime plays him. But then who do they target with the TPE?

TPE options: Kuzma, Malik Beasley, Kennard, Huerter, Duncan Robinson, Crowder, Jordan Clarkson, Burks, Josh Richardson…

Blazers are so stupid, they did all that maneuvering and all they have to show for it is a new overpaid supporting cast who can’t get Lillard a ring. They basically cleared McCollum’s money to pay Simons. Norman Powell, Covington and CJ out, Jerami Grant, Josh Hart and Gary Payton Jr. in…

Don't forget Nance. I like Nance.

Anyway, it's a more defense-oriented team. Let's see how they do.
