Damn, the wife’s post is compelling. miles is a dirt ball. Went from my favorite hornet to I don’t need to see him ever again. We should just try to resign PJ to an extension now and cut Bridges. Huge asset lost but the message would be the right one. I had a feeling things were going rotten after the mouthpiece/lean incidents.
Jordan needs to actually get involved with his young players, meet with them weekly individually for life coaching etc. create a culture. He is way too into stacking cash and golf and is squandering an opportunity to mentor. Also, we should resign Kemba and bring in Marv as an assistant to provide more leadership pronto.

I would assume Hornets offer the qualifying offer of 7 Million, he gets suspended a **** ton of games. Good chance he doesn't play here long-term anymore which is really going to set us back at least 2 years. Sucks for the Hornets.

Not sure from a team building perspective it makes sense to just release him. Even on a 1 year QO, we can probably trade him for something. I don't condone what he did at all, however it would make me sick to watch him succeed on a team like Lakers or Miami and in 6 months nobody ever talk about this again.

Doubt anything really happens with him for at least 2 weeks as more information gets sorted out. Hornets can can still spend MLE why we wait, but otherwise I do not see a reason to straight release him unless we are somehow signing Ayton.

I don’t know how this could be worse unless a video exists. Either way this is bad bad and I don’t know how much longer he is a hornet

he signs a vet min 1 yr deal with the lakers, they catch heat for like 2 days after his signing. he gets suspended 15 or so games to start the season. and come next may when they are in the playoffs, national tv and all their fans gush about what a great addition he has been. then next summer, he gets his payday.

Not so much a prediction as a guarantee.

He's not going to play this season. She has medical documentation of a "severe" concussion among other things like strangle marks on her neck and a torn eardrum so he grabbed at her head and ripped at her ear as she likely struggled.

Not that financial compensation is any remedy to PTSD but at least insurance companies protect the brain. Her settlement will be deservedly huge and he will be struck with a restraining order. His children won't want to see him when they reach adulthood.

He should be ashamed he even wants to associate with LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets. It's creepy even. He needs help. No clubhouse can be built with this character a part of it. I think the NBA suspension will be substantial. The league has a responsibility to protect the brand of all of its teams.

His life is a mess. This roster will be fine. Yes I wish we had Eason but Hayward is the starter at 3 and PJ at 4. I believe in Bouknight and Kai and I know others really believe in Thor. I like Mark Williams.

The QO is on the table, was placed on Tuesday before all this crap broke. Hornets have a decision to make; withdraw the QO or leave it and deal with the fallout. I say withdraw it and cut ties for now.

What a s*** show this wanna be punk became. For all his talent, skill development and improvement in his game, he was leading a double life. Running with a posse of whatever, livin the rapper life and (evidently) being an abusive husband, ending in a vicious assault. This is not a man focused on the best of living as a family while working at his craft.

Indeed he will eventually get hired back with some team, but it won’t be this season. His wife going public with the abuse and damage is a PR nightmare. Real jail time is likely, and I hope he’s thrown in for at least a couple years. Granted that could make him worse, but it’s his responsibility, and he should pay the price.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The one bright spot in this tragedy where Miles has lost his family and teammates is it will sober him to the emptiness of his entourage. This event will drive a wedge between him and his posse. They're not equipped to counsel and resolve his deeper issues. They're only there for the "bag". He loses them and he loses all the dipsticks in his ear feeding him the illusion that his other personality is a rap artist.

They don't know the answer to the question, "Where do I go from here?"

Nothing to rap about now tough guy. It's probably best you keep your big fat mouth shut and disappear.

If Klutch has not advised Miles take the QO and offer it in settlement they should be fired. That money should be in her hands. He should take a leave of absence if not suspended the full year.

If he ever returns to basketball, and I'm assuming he will want to because his rapper illusion will crash in the coming weeks, months and year, he would be wise to be loyal to his only sober true friend LaMelo Ball and sign for a second chance. Not about the money.

Agree with this 100%. The guy is a POS but he's still an asset that should be liquidated in the most optimal way possible to derive maximum value for the team.

If we're going to part ways with him (and we should, imo, now that we know the assaulted woman was in fact his wife, and she's publicized the pix and extent of it), force him to take the QO and then trade him in a few months.

It's likely he never steps foot on the court for Charlotte again and I see him missing at least half the year away from the team on suspension and or counseling or some other BS manner of carefully cultivated image rehabilitation Klutch cooks up for him.

Come December, there will be play off teams like the Lakers that will still be willing to trade something for him. It'll be pennies on the dollar compared to what he would have previously yielded, but hey, why not take what we can get even if it's only some future second rounders.

If we rescind the QO and just let him walk, the scenario fats outlined is almost certain to happen.

There is no way I rescind the QO. That's just giving a contender a fringe all-star for free, and probably helps Miles sweep this whole thing under the rug asap to boot (the media will repair that reputation in a blink if Lebron needs him for a title run. It'll be heartwarming *vomits*). It would practically end up being a reward.

Keep him on the QO, see what the league hands down, try to recoup some value. There is no alternative.

First of all, absolutely do not rescind any qualifying offer. We can hold his rights hostage and won’t have to pay it anyway after he gets suspended. There are plenty of unethical teams that would scoop him up and probably benefit like Miami or Boston or LA. I imagine we move forward without Miles but I wanna make sure he’s not in anyone else’s plans either. **** that.

Brutal developments. Not sure he could be redeemed here. Hope the victim gets fair compensation. I assume this will be a "what if?" scenario fans return to, I can't imagine how this doesn't set back the franchise. Ugh.

I've moved on. Rescind qualifying offer (we need the space), pivot to Ayton to salvage the asset. Miles Bridges destroyed his family, you can't root for someone like that, even if he fixes his life.

You cut him now and issue a statement that any team that signs him should be punished by the league and ask the league to take a stance on Domestic Violence. F**k Miles Bridges.

I guess it's not all smiles with Miles

I doubt Miles is good enough to erase the stink of this even if he's cleared. Jason Kidd is a HOF'er and still has the wife-beater stigma whenever he messes up like in Spillgate.

Miles is probably gonna be blackballed like Meyers Leonard even if this is a one time incident.

Miles was a high character guy until this calendar year. His scouting report coming out of college was high character guy. Classic case of hanging around the wrong crowd. I imagine he had a childhood dream to be a rap star and he just chose the wrong friends once he got into the league.

If they give him a contract it would probably be nonguaranteed and Bridges would have to jump through hoops to get it. They'd probably have early termination clauses. Also, he'd get no money while suspended.

I'd let the NBA decide what the consequences of his actions will be in terms of his eligibility to play in the NBA.

I never wanna see Miles step on a NBA court again. Still knowing sports history with punishing abuser, I can't help but feel in 8 months time we will see Miles getting praised for his highlight dunks while his abuse history gets reduced to nothing but a subtle meme.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?
