hornets cut miles
he signs a vet min 1 yr deal with the lakers, they catch heat for like 2 days after his signing. he gets suspended 15 or so games to start the season. and come next may when they are in the playoffs, national tv and all their fans gush about what a great addition he has been. then next summer, he gets his payday.
Agree with this 100%. The guy is a POS but he's still an asset that should be liquidated in the most optimal way possible to derive maximum value for the team.JMAC3 wrote:I would assume Hornets offer the qualifying offer of 7 Million, he gets suspended a **** ton of games. Good chance he doesn't play here long-term anymore which is really going to set us back at least 2 years. Sucks for the Hornets.
Not sure from a team building perspective it makes sense to just release him. Even on a 1 year QO, we can probably trade him for something. I don't condone what he did at all, however it would make me sick to watch him succeed on a team like Lakers or Miami and in 6 months nobody ever talk about this again.
Doubt anything really happens with him for at least 2 weeks as more information gets sorted out. Hornets can can still spend MLE why we wait, but otherwise I do not see a reason to straight release him unless we are somehow signing Ayton.

I doubt Miles is good enough to erase the stink of this even if he's cleared. Jason Kidd is a HOF'er and still has the wife-beater stigma whenever he messes up like in Spillgate.
Miles is probably gonna be blackballed like Meyers Leonard even if this is a one time incident.
