The Big Ten will go where the money is, because that's how it's been with college sports since the dawn of time.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Stanford has a wonderful sports pedigree and is an excellent school, and it may be enough for B10 to be interested. But they offer little of value market-wise.
I would be interested because I don't care about the money as a fan. Sooner or later our volleyball teams are going to be like '**** it, we'll just play in-conference all year.'

I will not abide any Stanford praise.
Be better, MiG.

I haven’t thought through all the ramifications of adding UCLA and USC. What I do know, is I sure am sick of watching the Badgers play Iowa, Nebraska, and Rutgers.

Wouldn't stanford add the SF/Bay market? Stanford and Cal are both extremely high level academics schools so would fill the academics snobness of the B1G. And the Bay is a huge market with lots of money.
Heck, if they're gong this route why not just merge with the Pac 10 somehow.

Wow, I thought Stanford was inland, like by Modesto

I imagine we'll end up taking most of the P12, some may want to go to the B12 perhaps. The P12 is dead
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Guessing Arizona/Arizona St go B12. There were already rumors around that happening when they were looking to replace Texas and Oklahoma.
And yes, think the big names will wind up with us. We'll ultimately end up with an (expanded) P12-like division so that the teams - like USC and UCLA, obviously - don't have to travel to New Jersey and Pennsylvania on a weekly basis, and vice-versa. I don't think we'll see B10 steer into the new conference-less trend as a result.
My biggest question I think is if Oregon and Washington will be hurdles because of Oregon State and Washington State. Will they ditch them? Will we take them?

Those rivalries are strong but they could keep the annual matchups as NC games. But if the B10 didn't take the two State teams where would they go? Take a step down to the Mountain West? B12 perhaps. Hard to say.

24-team "Northern" Mega-Conference. Would kind of suck to be part of the group relegated to the West coast and lose some traditional games as a result, but think it's most likely.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Yea at this point I'm kind of hoping enough west teams get added that we end up in the East with the old B1G teams, even if it means OSU every year but I agree we'll probably end up on the other side.
when it first broke and was only the two teams, obviously they'd be in our division, but I thought well it would probably hurt the LA teams recruiting to have to say all their road games are on the other side of the country and in cold weather. But with how this is looking that seems like it'll be irrelevant, so USC is likely to become a big power again with Riley.
