Doesn't matter what list they have or where they want to go. Don't make a move just to make one.

Funny enough, Kyrie (finally) helps the Nets - he needs to play this season wherever he is. Not only that, he'll need to perform AND show some level of dependability if he wants anything near a max next offseason. So if there isn't anything compelling for either just play out the season

Kyrie/Mills
Oneal/Curry
Durant/Harris
Simmons/Edwards
Claxton/Sharpe

That is a very good team. And then next season you'd still have Simmons/Durant which is a playoff contender at the very least.

With no draft picks the next few years this Durant trade is essentially the only viable way of improving the team going forward. It has to be on point.

How about a 3 team deal with us, Phoenix and Atlanta? Nets get Bridges, Collins, and Johnson out of the deal along with picks. Phoenix gets KD/Capella and Atlanta gets Ayton to pair up with their dynamic backcourt

Not enough. Brooklyn needs Ayton in any deal with Suns and will wait until December if they have to.

I think we start the season with both KD and Kyrie on the roster.

I love Bridges, but he can't be the highest potential player returned in the deal. Ayton would need to be shopped around for an equally high potential asset or combo of assets that would not hard cap the Nets. Is Ayton enough of an upgrade over a now injured JJJ for Memphis to also include Bane or some other assets?

Does Toronto do Siakam for Ayton? I don't think they would, & Siakam is older than the ideal return, but Siakam+Bridges would be a good haul in my opinion.

Still think the best option for Nets would be to have another shot next season with this group. There is still intriguing potential with KD, Kyrie and Simmons with complementary vets and shooters. If it doesn't work, then blow it up. There is no need to rush with any trade because KD is on a 4 year contract. If you trade him, you enter the rebuild phase. It's worth trying one more time, imo.

I know, but all the high potential assets are locked up on new contracts outside of say, Scottie Barnes, Desmond Bane or Evan Mobley.

We might have to tell KD that he's SOL

The Hornets would need to add something for the Nets taking on Rozier and Oubre. A compromise could be splitting the Lakers draft picks.

Yeah. That's not bad at all. At least it would keep us in the playoff hunt. We would definitely need Crowder or Saric for size at the 4.

None of those players are blue chips though, MAYBE Ayton.

Bridges, Cam, Rozier, Oubre are all role players.

We'd definately have solid depth but no stars which is a huge no for me.

We need at least 1 clear cut star back for KD.

Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes, Mobley, Edwards, Lamelo, Bam, Garland, Fro, Poole, Banes, etc.

Just say no to Rozier. The Nets' books in 2024 are currently an expiring Simmons & the 2021 draft class. Taking Ayton back would obviously affect that, but don't further pollute it with Rozier.

I think Bridges is more than just a role player. He's DPOY caliber. While offensively challenged, a line-up of Ayton-Simmons-Bridges-O'Neale-TBD could be top defense in the league material.
