1st day of free agents

Post#1 » by FJS » Fri Jul 1, 2022 11:20 am

Basically we have lost

Royce O'Neale
Juancho Hernangómez (maybe we could resign here?)
Danuel House
Eric Paschall
Hassan Whiteside (Any possibility to resign him?)
Trent Forrest is unsigned.

And if any of us was thinking in resign Ingles he has gone to Bucks.

So basically 0 additions.

We have under contract 9 guys (no 2 way)

Gobert
MItchell
Conley
Bogdanovic
Clarkson
Gay
Alexander-Walker
Udoka
Butler

We could still re-sign Forrest, Juancho and Paschall....... And Whiteside too...... I think the management is looking for max flexibility while exploring trades....... And we weren't in the running for the players who've been signed already anyway.......

So far, the Jazz free agency period has been perplexing. They need wings, yet they are trading away or letting go of their wings. I have not seen a single rumor of any potentially incoming player to the Jazz even though they have cleared space or obtained a TPE in order to enable them to do so. Usually, the better trades happen quickly in free agency.

Are they tearing this down or behind the scenes making one or two big moves? Does the Durant/Irving debacle impact those plans?

Atlanta just traded Huerter for picks, don’t be surprised if they are getting assets for Gobert.

Like Windhorst speculated, were making roster spots to accommodate the Minnesota trade. Great trade for both sides IMO. Minny gives themselves a shot to be contenders if this Gobert and Towns can coexist, and we get a warchest of first round picks. OKC, Houston, and Utah are loaded with picks for the foreseeable future.
