DDV sucks. I don't know where this love affair with him came from. Solid wing defender and fun to watch, but he's AWFUL offensively. Looks for his shot first 100% of the time and is a complete ball stopper. Wouldn't bother me that much but he's got to be among the most inefficient scorers in the entire NBA and has been his entire career.

Malik Monk has gotten better each year and actually looked really solid with the Lakers last year. With his preexisting chemistry with Fox I'm much more excited to have him than I would've been with DDV.
True and the league must feel this way also. He still hasn't signed yet. Be lucky to get the TMLE, but more likely he takes an even smaller 1 year prove it deal for a conrender. Pretty telling no rumors about teams chasing him.

He's incredibly flashy, quick, and isn't a net negative 1 on 1 defender. Because of that I think he's been overvalued by fans who don't watch him every night. But he is a complete liability on the offensive end to the point where it completely overshadows his defense. He was nowhere near deserving of the 27 or so minutes a game we gave him last year. The fact that his camp even complained about those minutes was so comical to me. Let him be someone else's problem. The last thing we need is a ball stopping, me-first player who can't shoot from ANYWHERE on the court.

He really was bad. He had a really good run for like 20 games when he was a rooking where he looked like a future 6 man type of guys and everybody had been on his hype ever since

Do like this signing. Was very disappointed after having some hope for DDV so this is fine.

Going to be a fun 12th seed to watch next year.

18-4-2 on 7-12 shooting
23-10-4 on 9-12
21-5-4 on 8-17
5-4-2 on 2-8
20-5-3 on 8-11
22-4-4 on 8-16
24-4-4 on 8-15
22-7-3 on 7-13

The guy just plays his best basketball going against Fox. Maybe its that competitive spirit. I'd be excited to have him on board. He can get to the rim, shoot 3s, hes a capable secondary playmaker. His defense is lacking but couldn't ask for a better 6th man something we have been lacking. Assuming we don't do anything crazy, Id be fine with Fox/Davis starting and Mitchell/Monk as the bench. Those 2 sets compliment each other a lot.

I agree that he got up to see and play vs Fox but it was the Buddy matchup that brought out those #s.

To play devil's advocate I will take the shooter. Kings hired a defensive minded champion level coach to come in and get the best out his players on the defensive end. Even with playoff caliber defense played in G1C the Kings need floor spacers with Fox and Sabonis to stand a chance.

Monk's shooting would have a greater impact on wins vs DDV's defense.

I agree that it will be Brown's impact on turning us into a good team defending squad that will make the difference. Better and easier to get really talented scorer and get him to buy into the team defensive scheme Brown runs then the other way around.

Looks like Monk has found a home for the next few years. I hope you guys keep winning and make the playoffs. This team is really fun.
