Brogdon, Smart and White are all combo guards. None of them are PGs. None of them are SGs. They can do a little bit of both but aren't elite at either. When you have talented wings that dominate the ball like we do I don't think it matters TOO much. However, that's a whole lot of money devoted to three flawed players who don't really fit their roles like you'd ideally want them to. For this to work and for us to return to the Finals and win it these combo guards will need to shoot at least average from 3 off the Jays action. Brogdon shot 31% last season. He's also had a 33% season from three in the past as well. White has shot 31% three years running. And we all know how unreliable Smart is from three. Do not be surprised if our playoff run is shortened because guys other than the Jays aren't able to hit shots.

The Pacers have been trying to move Brogdon for what seems like forever with no takers. Why? They went out of their way to trade away an all-star in Sabonis so they could replace Brogdon. The market for him was non-existent. It's making me pause a bit. Why is this supposedly good/great player getting next to no offers? Either the injuries are a bigger concern or he's got some personality issues. Brogdon might be the classic stats guy due to usage. And he's averaged around 55 games a season the last five seasons. He is absolutely injury prone and turning 30 y/o and having already gotten his big payday may not make him the most motivated individual.

Ime has to juggle these personalities and minutes. I personally do not have much faith in him to do so going by last season. It could be a concern.

We've wasted a whole bunch of first round picks. Langford, Nesmith, Pritchard, #30 pick (MEM took Bane), 2022 1st, 2023 1st and future pick swap. That's A LOT. No matter how you slice it, no matter how you try to justify it, that's way too many wasted opportunities. If White was anywhere near the player worth trading Langford, 2022 1st, Richardson and future pick swap for, they wouldn't have even entertained the Brogdon trade. So it's a cluster F of mismanaged assets that could end up coming back to haunt us.

That said, I applaud the organization for "going for it". It's not without risk but I didn't think they'd be able to keep up with the Joneses and on paper we definitely have. We should be considered one of the top 3 teams in the East which is better than we were heading into last season imho.

How do you not have faith in Ime juggling personalities based on this season? Lol did we all miss something that you know or was this “Danny’s hubris” reincarnated?

Indiana still has Turner on the roster - they can max, near-max Ayton already.. Minnesota was a big Turner suitor so I don’t know who the runner-up will be..

I wonder if Ind would max Ayton and then organize a S&T where they send turner back to PHO. They pair a 24 year old Ayton with a 22.5 year old Haliburton and build around that.

Then they could resign Warren on a short term prove it deal, maybe spin him off for picks if he looks good before the deadline.

Yeah his track record of hitting on picks with high draft picks is so bad. Oh wait...

KD would like to play with the Western All stars plus Kyrie minus Westbrook. He’s reasonable.

Dude is softer than Charmin.

Only wants to play on super teams and spends his free time acting like a troll on Twitter. :nonono:

Fine end of the bench guy. I'd like to see some Grant Will at the 5 too. Rob/Horford/Kornet is pretty thin given that Rob is hurt a lot and Horford is nearing 40. With the guard depth though (Smart, Brodgon, White, Pritchard... JB) have to think that JB plays at the 3 a lot, Tatum at the 4.... plus Galo is just a 4. Think Grant may see some small ball 5 looks.

Well the Celtics do need trade fillers for the mid season trade deadline.

Thank you Fitts, Stauskas and Morgan!

He's a very moody guy. Same guy who seems to prefer teaming with Kyrie over Steph Curry.
