Seems like everyone is forgetting Justice Winslow. The guy can't shoot but is a fanstastic defender and a great facilitator on O

I think Hart, Keon, and 2 firsts will get you something pretty shiny at the 3. There's a ton of risk there, but that's a swing. We can't prove the negative right now. We don't know what the cost is for any specific player, but I can absolutely guarantee you that if you dangled 2 first, Hart, and Keon you're going to have some good trade discussions about some damn good players. Especially with the potential in Portland for things to fall apart, team's are going to be all over future Portland 1sts.
Give me some SF names that we could snag for Hart, Keon and 2 FRP.
Harrison Barnes? Is paying that cost really worth 3" height, 10lbs and 2" WS.Something like Hart, Little, and 2 firsts?
Why does PHX make that trade when KD now mostly plays PF? They would just keep Mikal at SF. A move for KD means all-in win-now, making a asset gathering trade makes no sense for them.
Uhhhh... Mikal Bridges will 1000% be on his way to Brooklyn in any KD trade. The point is to jump in there and ask Brooklyn whether they'd rather have Bridges, or picks, a solid player, and a prospect... I know Phoenix wouldn't do the trade, but I think Brooklyn might.
Harrison Barnes has been a 4 for years... I have no interest in him as Grants equivelant IMO at the 4 anyways.

Re: Free agency
Not likely but if CHA decides to tank for a year due to the Miles fiasco, then use cap space and a high 2023 LP to retool, maybe the Bridges stuff actually makes Gordon more available. Move off his 23/34 money and CHA is looking at really clean books summer 2023.
Bledsoe, Winslow, Brown or Didi, 2 SRP for Gordon?

This contract smells trouble by a mile otherwise.
he just entered his prime and youre saying hes on the verge of the beginning of his decline

He could pair well with Grant and the starters. Since Grant shoots it like a SF it might just work

Re: Free agency
what does everyone think of the Rudy Gobert trade to Minnesota?
Makes me wonder how anyone buys Portland as a playoff contender. Top 6 in the west are GSW, Memphis, Dallas, Phoenix, LAC, Denver and Minnesots with NO a real threat if they Zion back.

I won't be surprised to see Towns being traded away before his contract expires

Gobert and KAT wont work.
I strongly think this will go down as one of the worst trades in recent memory. Utah got a insane haul.

Which begs the question, what the hell are we doing? I guess if EVERYONE improves, Sharpe and Jabari are studs out of the box we could make some noise but I just don't see it and we are eating a year of developments with young players we could have had.

Yea... it's sort of sad when even the Timberwolves are at least taking swings. Whatever though, I think the FO is paying lip service to building something competitive, but they, like us, know that this is just a sinking ship sprinting towards a full rebuild.

Re: Free agency
IMHO i wonder if cronin asked BIllups what he needed to add to compete whiten reason and this is the result.
i too think its a lot of overpay and bidding against ourselvs again(2016).
now we have it seems alot of money tied up for the next few yrs, my only hope is billups gets ALL of them to play defense.
i would prefer to stay as flexible (cap & player wise ) if possible.
i just dont think there's enough guard mins to go around and not enough front court help.

Re: Free agency
I will say if Chauncey gets the 1st squad to play like the second squad did last year, we could be in for some fun, but we don't have the horses to legitimately compete.

The money they're committing sure makes it appear like they're not looking for a rebuild any time soon.
Maybe they've seen good signs that Dame is going to regain his form from June 2021.

Even if he does, I'm not sold this roster is anything but marginally better than many of the last rosters... And it's similarly unbalanced as previous rosters with Grant, Hart, and Little do for extensions next year.
Feels like we've made a lot of moves to end up right back where we started... Which is a pretty crappy spot to be. I just don't really get it.

If Nurkic gets injured, Watford becomes our C?
This roster is whack.
Even if we sign or trade for another big man, we are still too guard heavy.
