If Miami throws the kitchen sink in an offer for Mitchell I think he's gone too.

they have him on a long term contract so there's no rush to make a move

if they're able to snag Ayton, Mitchel may even want to stay

they just picked up a ton of tradeable assets/picks so they have good pieces to get more help if they want to

Utah can play this however they want to IMO

If I am the Raps, I say heck no. Barnes is too important and versatile for that.

Personally, Mitchell is overrated. I like him, but he has a huge ego and is a one-way player. If he was the same guy he was when he first came into the league, playing both ways I'd feel differently. His body language this past playoffs was terrible. It honestly wouldn't shock me to see Ainge trade him to Charlotte (for picks and get Rozier and Hayward back). Then Donovan could play with Melo.

I don't see many contenders Mitchell will fit that need his role. Pure SG, wants to be paid and considered a superstar, gets injured a lot and doesn't defend anymore.

Now that Gobert is gone Mitchell can start fresh and try to prove his worth as legit top 15 player without Gobert. I think the "rift" between them is way overblown. Media stirring the pot to grab some headlines. If the jazz land ayton they will be in the playoffs again next year. If mitchell is gone it's bc ainge is an opportunist and will move him to land a massive haul not bc Mitchell wants out.

If I am the Raps, I say no. For sure.

Ignore that trash post. There are a couple of posters on our board absolutely obsessed to the moon with Mitchell for some bizarre reason. If we are not trading Barnes for KD we are never trading him for Mitchell.

What is the 2nd way? Scoring and foul trouble ?

I don't get it. Jazz fans can say whether this is off or not, but wasn't all the talk Mitchell and Gobert didn't get along? Why would the Jazz trade Gobert and all of a sudden Mitchell is like, F it, I'm out.
I can see the Jazz retooling this roster around Mitchell and being very good. They now have a huge pick package to pair him with someone, or the next star that wants out. Maybe Wade convinces KD?

If the Jazz get Ayton for little amount of picks, this could end up being a very good deal for them as they can still compete while getting younger and having a ton of draft captial.

Imagine now he goes and flips Mitchell for the Gobert package from the Knicks.

I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that the Jazz were planning on building around Mitchell, why would this deal mean they are trading him now? From what I see they added an O'neal upgrade in VAnderbilt, a bench scorer, a young defensive Center, and Beverly makes a good defensive backcourt mate for Mitchell. They solved some of their issues in 1 deal, and they have the LLE and MLE to add to their current roster. It isn't a contender but in a year they have the all star game a playoff team with an all star is going to be important to have.

The Jazz need to go full rebuild. Either by trading Mitchell now, at the deadline, or next off season.

Mitchell will eventually leave. He is not good enough of a player to retool around- this isn't Shaq and Kobe. Even if the Jazz get Ayton they are a play in team at best. Just hit the reset button as it is what the franchise needs.

Jazz should sell high now before he has his worst career year.

Jazz should look to see if they get another Godfather haul for Mitchell. If so, trade and rebuild.

In many ways, Gobert and Mitchell we're good compliments. But it's probably time to bail.

He wants to go to Miami, LA or NY market I'm sure. He's already been putting out the word that he's unhappy about lack of all-star votes being in a small market.

They should easily be able to get a better haul than they just got for Gobert, and they did pretty good with their Gobert haul.

Haven't seen him play recently? Esp in the playoffs? He was guarding the other team's best wings and doing a pretty good job. Not saying he's top tier, but he's certainly become above average.
