Gobert was my favorite player on the team so I'm saddened by the news. I am also realistic, he should never have maxed. Max players should be great on both sides of the floor not just offense or defense. Rudy needed some offensive game before getting the max. If he was making 25-30 mil/year would he have been moved?

That being said we got great pieces for rebuilding, I'm not sure if I'm up for a rebuild. Maybe a quick retooling this year.

I'm also not sold on rebuilding around DM as your center piece. Great player but I had some issues with him this year. His hero ball, ugg I don't want to watch that anymore.

if we are in rebuild I might have to watch the wolves next year, they have something special set up now. Kat at the 4 is a bigger and better Bogie imho. They should be fun to watch next year.

Kessler nbadraft.net evaluation.....9 for size, 9 for defense. Averaged 4.7 blocks a game last year....that is a lot.

Heat fan coming in peace - I didnt want to make a thread and clutter your board. Someone (not me) on our board thinks Bam for Mitchell straight up in a hypothetical trade is a fair swap for both sides. Can I have some Jazz fans opinions, looking for at least 3 responses

I wonder if Quinn started to consider quitting when the FO told him after the season they were going to trade Gobert.

I had that same thought. He was told the direction of team and wasn't interested.

Not to mention he was about to get exposed as a poor defensive coach without Gobert to cover everyone's asses. Couldn't risk that.

That's a super sad day for me as a Jazz fan. I really loved Rudy and other teams' fans hate for him made me love him even more. His relentlessness and unselfishness on both ends of the floor were defining characteristics of this iteration of Jazz basketball and the main reason this team was good when it was good and his absence was the reason we were bad/mediocre any time he missed games. Of course he had his ill-fated **** up around COVID and unfortunately this for some people defined him, rather than his response in the aftermath, but still...

I will always root for Rudy. Whenever he's not playing the Jazz he will always have a fan in me. I hope Minny gives him more love and support than the Jazz did.

Best center in the history of the Jazz.

Salute, Rudy!

I wouldn't do it. I don't think their value is THAT close. I personally value Mitchell higher. Also... IF we are trading him, I'd much rather go for the Rudy type of package - tons of unprotected picks and pick swaps. What are we gonna do with Bam and nothing else around him? This is a waste. And before you say - here's tons of Heat picks... Heat picks are worthless... well, compared to other teams that might be willing to give for Mitchell. For example, would I rather have tons of Heat picks who have shown consistent ability to be a playoff team and overperform their talent or tons of Knicks picks? Or tons of Kings picks? Or tons of NOP picks? Or tons of OKC picks? In essence, Miami is one of the 5 teams or thereabout I would least like to have future picks from. Just the expected return is low on those IMO.

Am I the only person here who values our stars highly? Like... I get the frustration of the way the season ended but to me it's wild thinking Bam has higher value than Mitchell. :o

I think it's too early to leave Mitchell to go. The guy is 26 for the next season.
We have to see what we can do.
If we can retool with young fellas, is a good direction.
I mean, Vandervilt, Beasley, Kessler are young (Malik with same age as Donovan), and if they can have Ayton this would be a young core, some of them proved.
Maybe we could do something with Bojan and Conley. This young core with some 1st round drafts are interesting. And I'm curious about Butler. The guys gave some good minutes, and I think he could be better than we think.

Right now it's just a glut of combo guards and wings. For sure they're not done yet, especially having dealt their best C and left with Doke and Kessler

JC may not be safe and we know Mike and Bogey have been in the trade talks for some time now. No one's trading for Gay. Atm

Conley/Beverley/Forrest/Butler
Mitchell/Clarkson/Beasley
Bogdanovic/NAW/Sneed
Vanderbilt/Gay
Udoka/Kessler

No way did they solve their perimeter D with a solid wing still

I dont have Bam has higher value, but with Gobert gone I'm committed to blowing it all up. A Mitchell-Bam swap to me would be about flipping Bam for more assets at some point. Trade deadline? Lots of tes would be interested in Bam.

That's the thing. I don't see a world in which Bam gets you more value than Mitchell? Not now, not in 6 months, not in 2 years...

Yes as soon as I realized that we got a skilled defensive, shot blocking machine, I was much releived. If you include the 2022 FRP, we got 5 FRPs, 2022, 2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029, plus a swap! You never what the future holds, look how fast the "dynasty" of KD, Irving, and Harden lasted. We also got arguably the best GM in the business, who better to build a team through the draft than him? He drafted Tatum over Fultz, drafted Brown, Smart, R.Williams, etc. We're in great hands for the future and could be very good as soon as this season as well. Free JUST started.
