Could you imagine if we gave Bagley the deal Detroit did?

I mainly agree here. I think right now as it stands the Kings will be above:
SA
OKC
Portland

Teams that are definitely better:
GS/Memphis/Suns

Lets See (They've got more talent, but injuries/form, etc)
Nuggets/Clippers/Dallas/Lakers/Pelicans/Timberpups/

On the cusp:
Jazz

Still a long way to go in FA. Going to be a tough assignment for the Kings and will need some luck.

He played 27 minutes for the Pistons in 18 games after the trade, averaging 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds.

He shot 55.5/22.9/59.3. Horrible from 3 though only 2 attempts a game and poor FT shooting. But he shot 62.4% from 2.

He would be their starter at the 4 unless Duren really takes off and they can play him at the 5 and move Stewart to the 4 ahead of Bagley.

So if he plays similar minutes and has similar production, they're paying about $12-13 million a year for 3 years for a starter.

But apparently he wasn't getting any other offers either.

On paper I like us better than Utah, especially with Snyder gone.

Kessler
Bojan/Vanderbilt
Beasley/gay
Mitchell/Clarkson
Conley/Beverly

We should be the better team and I don't think it's particularly close. Unless mitchell goes full on prime DWade.

But Utah could get in on ayton, and has a ton of picks to play with so we will see. I'm hoping that donovan mitchell is heading to Miami or NYK soon to push them even further to the bottom. We need more tanking teams in the west lol.

Oh, good point on Snyder. Didn't take that into account.

He wasn't much better at Detroit than at Sacramento. You can't just look at numbers at the Kings. He had 1 game out of 18 with the Pistons where he played under 20 minutes. He had 11 of 30 at the Kings under 20 minutes. That's where you will see the majority of change. He didn't play really until Walton was fired.
His assist rate was much better at Detroit, but his rebound numbers were more than disappointing, which is his main attribute.
Again, the Kings would have been crucified mercilessly by everyone for giving him even half that. Yet people see him playing more minutes and say, well he did show a bit with the Pistons. Little do they know, Marvin showed a bit with the Kings last season too, but it's not sustainable for him. Plus you give him the $12-13 a year after him playing 18 games with you, when by the looks of it, at the very least he had a limited market.

Look, give Marvin Bagley over 32-34mins a night and he will get you 20-10. Doesn't mean he is a good player because watch how many times the other team targets him in P&R and he is slow to close out on a 3, or he stands there ball watching and allows his man to score inside on him.
They better showcase him a fair bit on the offensive end because he's not going to be playing much if they don't.

I'm for giving Monte an extension. He's made more right moves, and I see the acumen

Rumors have been reporting that the Kings are interested in the Hawks' John Collins.

Would Kings fans be interested in Collins for Keegan?

Don't think there's any chance we move Keegan for Collins. The only move we'd make for Collins would be Harrison Barnes but we can't really add a first anymore so not sure if a deal is there at this point.

This deal is beyond dead. It would have been worked into the huerter deal, but I think once we got keegan we no longer wanted Collins.

But we could remove the protections on the ‘24 first and call it a day.

What do you think?
Remove protections on the pick. Add Barnes. What else needs to happen to get ATL to accept?

Didn't even realize he was with the Warriors. Hopefully, he is a big addition.

I can't see anything more with the Hawks. If they wanted a first for Heurter then I would think it is a lot more for Collins.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to the Suns along with Capela in a S&T for Ayton. Split into 2 trades. Collins/1st for Ayton. Then Capela for Saric/Craig/Return of 1st.
If the Suns then load up on a KD deal with Bridges/Johnson/Crowder/Pick Package the Suns would be amazing. Calling all old ring chasers. Blake/LMA/Melo
CP3/Payne
Booker/Shamet
Durant
Collins
Capela

So the Kings have the BAE left.
$4.1 in salary the first year, $4.3 second year. Who would your target be for this?

Brooklyn just rescinded their QO on Kessler Edwards. Would definitely give him a look.

Wow, I didn't know that. I haven't seen much of him, but when I have he's been not bad at all. Lot's of room for growth.

Keegan is more a center than a SF. I dont think Collins is in the cards

Return to Sacramento Kings
