Re: OFFSEASON THREAD, VOL. REALLY HOT
Nets still have a decent, really good chance at being a top 3 team if healthy... Would not surprise me if Nets don't trade KD and he just ends up staying like Kobe in '07

Heat needed more than shooters this post-season, needed some scorers-- Myrie and TJ Warren would fit that bill to a t... If they could stay on the floor (which could be said for a lot of players)

You don't want to miss out on Herro and Jovic becoming Allstars DOM
Don't forget Orlando Robinson too;)

It implies that Kris Middleton will stay injured and that our retirement age point guard will manage to stay healthy despite looking like a PG version of TNT Charles Barkley. Last year was really the year to seize a chip due to all the randomness. Running it back with a team that was running on fumes to the point where they shot 30% from 3 the entire playoffs and expecting a Finals trip is a bit hopeful.

They needed someone to save them from those stretches where they can't do anything offensively. Where Bam is DHOing to everyone on the team and were shooting out of rhythm 3s.

Barry intentionally ignores all context
We don’t make it out of round 2 against a healthy Philly

Pat must be tirelessly operating overtime behind the curtain. Working intricately w/ complex detail, coordinating w/ several teams to not only acquire a whale but to have a plan b & c in place in the event they all slip. Let's get it Riles, do work homie!
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Imagine getting all that money to comfortably DHO all playoffs when Jimmy needed a hand & then have Riles come out & say Herro, Duncan & Strus shld all give their pay cheques to Bam

our 3rd most impactful player during that run is not on the team anymore and is on a contending conference rival. people need to get over the 1 shot away narrative

Re: OFFSEASON THREAD, VOL. REALLY HOT
I honestly believe KD is a pipedream here mainly due to the assets needed to get him and that he's signed long term.
While I believe he wants to be traded, I don't think it's guaranteed he will force himself out ala Ben Simmons style. Especially if Irving stays this year.
Give it one more shot to win in Brooklyn before Irving bounces to LA next off-season.
Mitchell I think is more practical as it appears the Jazz could be rebuilding and not retooling.
I would of liked to keep Jovic but I don't see how we can unless that's a main holdup right now on any deal.
Thing with any trade involving the above two is that it could be today or a month from now.
So, it's going to possibly leave this team out in the cold for most FAs

Kyrie is 30 years old. He's never going to grow up and quit manufacturing drama. He gets off on creating chaos. I really don't want him on this team.

Mitchell may be more realistic, but KD would actually give us a great chance to win the whole thing. Mitchell is an exciting player, but that excitement relies heavily on being ball dominant, and he's not a guy that going to carry you to a championship. Guys that excel by dominating the ball usually aren't as good when they are forced to share it.

Here me out on this.
The reports are the KD want to come here only if he can play with all 3 of Jimmy + Bam + Lowry.
Some assume it's impossible due to trade rules, but in fact after crunching the numbers - it's 100% doable.
Nets only have 8 players on roster for next season with guaranteed contracts - meaning they 7 spots left open ATM.
If we offer :

+ 3 first round picks + 2 swaps (for added value), it can work cap wise and value wise. Nets get a team ready to compete (they don't want to tank cause they owe their pick to Rockets), and they can flip some of our players for added value, Vincent and Strus can get something from other contending teams.
We're absolutely gutting our bench and depth entirely but we'll have a starting 5 of :
PG : Lowry/Garret?
SG : Dipo / Smart?
SF : Jimmy / _______
PF : KD /M.Morris
C : Bam / _______
We'll need to find some vet minimum guys and undrafted guys to come here and give solid bench minutes.
But that starting 5 is IMO the best in the league.

Absolutely fair, but can we give them more than 2 days before we call them a play in team? I'm not saying that you have, but some others ...wow
