Oh gosh, completely forgot about Ibaka's bird rights. Good call. Could also look at Ibaka @ like 6.5M+ Vildoza+ Tucker & a few seconds for Richardson or Jordan Clarkson so you wouldn't lose any rotation players. Would have to hope the Billionaires go for it though, that's deep into the tax

**** off.

Seriously.

It's the dumbest argument ever.....2 more inches over the line and KD is the dumbest player ever for not being sure of where he was on the court.

It happened. We have a ring. Love it or leave it.

I will never have a better sports journey in my life.

KD moves back and the shot clangs off the front of the rim.

Just wait until you find out about indoor netball.

It's played surrounded by, yep, nets.

I thought we couldn’t do a sign and trade due to being a tax paying team.

I think it's only when you're getting the player signing the new deal in the S&T, not when you're sending the player out.

Wonder if Utah has any interest in trading Jarred Vanderbilt, Pat Bev, or Bolmaro?

I agree. I’d put good money on us being done.

I think it's 50-50 to make a significant move.

Really? Like significant in making a trade? I just don’t see it. They’re not going to break up this group because of chemistry.

We just can't receive the signed guy. We can send him out.

If we could get a rotation piece for Ibaka (s&t) Tucker, Vildoza & picks, I'd poop my pants. I'd also be fine with a Ibaka s&t for like a $5mil tpe.

I know people around here hated him but if Ibaka's getting some bargain contract I would love to just bring him back as our reserve big. Having his salary at the deadline could be a plus too.

What's a bargain for a guy you really don't want to play, though?

I think they’re done unless someone hits the waiver wire or foreign guy that they feel is worth dumping Nwora for.

Now we're trying to maintain what got us there while also bringing in small pieces to compliment that. We don't have the assets to go for another splashy move, hardly any championship team ever does.

Agreed. An while it really sucks we can't add a guaranteed meaningful piece, we've got two lotto tickets in MarJon and Jingles.

If MarJon hustles and can give some Tony Allen/Herb Jones defense OR Jingles provides some late career Toni Kukoc magic, we'll have enough. We only need to hit on one of those two scenarios. Not unrealistic to hit on one

I'd also add, most of Horst's most significant moves have been via trade. And now with Allen, Hill, Ingles, Nwora (if he takes the QO) you've got a decent amount of very movable contracts to make the kind of deal Boston just made for Brogdon (although it would probably have to be a multi-team deal since many teams probably can't do a 3 or 4 to 1 trade during the season)

Maybe our big splash could be adding Harrison Barnes at the deadline after the Kings fail to make the playoffs yet again. Lopez, Allen and a future pick(s) for Barnes.

PG - Jrue (38), Hill/Carter (10)
SG - Connaughton (28), Matthews (20)
SF - Middleton (36), Ingles/Beauchamp (12)
PF - Giannis (14), Barnes (34)
C - Portis (24), Giannis (24)

Then the narrative would have just changed to, “the Bucks were one KD 3 away from not winning the championship.” Its honestly better this way that we had the OT to stomp them in.

I’m going to enjoy watching Ingles live rent-free in people’s heads…we need a guy like that. Joe ripped out a page from Bird’s mind-games manual.

rilamann wrote:The great thing in all of this is that at the end of the day, we still have the best player in the league.

Celtics getting Brogdon was a pretty good gut punch though. Feels like we need to add a solid rotation player or upgrade our starting SG position to kind of checkmate Boston for acquiring Brogdon.

The Brogdon trade is definitely a needle moving trade but if he continues to miss time due to injuries it could wind up being a detrimental waste of cap space and actually hurt the Celtics ability to surround Tatum and Brown with complimentary pieces necessary to contend. Don’t forget Horford just turned 36 and is likely to decline, Gallinari isn’t playable to close out games because he’s a defensive liability and I don’t see Grant Williams ever repeating his Game 7 performance or turning in this level of production on a consistent basis.

I’m also perturbed by the posters who are upset with the Ingles signing yet were advocating to sign PJ Tucker to a long term deal. Does anyone honestly think PJ will be able to give 25-30 quality minutes in the playoffs moving forward?

I think we are done making major moves and will look for upgrades at the trade deadline when we can add a rental or buyout candidate for little to no assets.
